  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi guys i have an appt scheduled to check out the drivers seat cushion. At 3600 miles looks as bad as yours at 10k

Would you please help me confirm heatting pattern on the front seats....to determine if mine are working....

Drivers seat
Heat from side bolsters limited heat from center cushion, heat from back cushion

Passenger seat heat from front cushion and back but not bottom cushion

Talked with dealer all they will do (if anything) will resolve the loose leather and if necessary replace the seat bottom with the same shitty foam. Ill discuss further with them if a customer purchased piece of foam can be utilized. Though im sure the answer is no

Please confirm heating pattern to help save a trip or provide ammo

Thank you

Ppp

Will have to check out the heating pattern. When I used it before, I felt it in the bottom and lower back.

Also, suggest you confirm you Collings is working up to par and where you feel that.

I've confirmed that my passenger seat does in fact warm both back and bottom.

GAWD! Talk about an obscure topic on a hot car! You guys are too much! Good luck with your rear ends. :D

Cooling. Check that too. I feel it in the base of the seat and the back.

Mine has gotten much worse. 5K miles only. It is a defect. Demand the management of Hyundai to get involved. Adding third party foam or replacing would likely affect the cooling and heating effectiveness.

We should all demand new seats with a corrected new design.

All four seats should heat your bum and back.

Cooling should be drivers only - and it's not really cooling as it's using ambient air and "venting".

Mine blows cold air.

It can only move air which is already in the cabin. There is not a separate condenser for the seats. Note the attached diagram.

Part's labeled 26, 27 and 28 are the filter, blower and electrical connector.

The ducting is 22, 24, and 25

My girlfriend's '05 Lincoln LS has heated/cooled seats -both sides. I believe it uses a solid state Peltier element for both heating and cooling. It's a bit noisy since a fan must run when used to blow off either the heat or cold -depending on the current flow/temp selection. I'm surprised that my '13 model year car is not as well equiped as a car from '05 in this case. No biggy for me tho, she doesn't like the cooled seat effect... Gives her the feeling of wet pants ;)

Interesting... because mine (the 2009 tech) has a "TED" (Thermo-Electric Device) peltier cooler that blows... yep you guessed it ... coooled air. I guess they removed it in later models. Section BE-651 and BE-652 of the 2009 manual clearly shows it on the diagram and in the amusingly-translated text.

Interesting. Thank you for posting that. Upon further investigation you are correct that there is a separate element built in. However the parts diagram does not reference them as separate (but one, and built into one another). The part number is the same from 09-12 (with a different instance number) -[most likely a parts supplier change]

Good discussion. :)

Jnc. I thought mine blew cold air. It takes a few minutes for the solid state shown to get cool enough. So, makes sense. Thanks guys for all the detail. Amazing group of Genny owners.
