  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi,
I am about to become a owner of a black/black V8+Tech Genesis (tonight hopefully) and I just wanted to say thank you to all of you for the very informative posts in this forum. They helped me finalizing my decision.

I was looking at and test drove Infiniti G37xs and Audi A5S. While the A5S is IMO still the best looking one, once I sat and drove the Genesis, there was no going back. It just makes more sense to me, if you consider what you pay and what you get.

The funny thing is that I decided to test drive the Genesis by accident :D. I had nothing to do last Tuesday so I decided to go test it with a friend. I was sure it would not be of any interest (Hyundai, right... I come from 2 Corvettes, a WRX STi and a Maxima (wifey's)) but I was so wrong :)

Got my V8 Genesis with tech pkg, logos and wheelcaps included for 40700ish which seems a good price to me (and if it isn't , don't tell me <G> I don't want to hear it). The dealer is PiazzaHyundai on 422, if you live in PA.

Well, thanks again to all!

Alex

Thank you, thank you :)
So far the experience is awesome: got the Genny home a couple of hours ago and I've been playing with its computer (but having a heck of a hard time programming the Homelink thingie)... More tomorrow.

Welcome.. I have not been able to get my homelink to work either. Not sure if my garage opener is a compatible model.

Howdy from another newbe:welcome:

Welcome aboard! Congrats on your purchase. :)

If your garage door has "rolling code" technology, it's a little trickier... took me about a half hour and an alignment of the planets to get it to work. :D

See the attached instructions.

Thanks LLT, I thought the issue was the rolling stuff and I will try again tonight. Yesterday was too late and I was wiped out once I got home.
When I figure it out I'll post something.

welcome aboard. Congrats on the new car. Great color combo. Get those windows tinted and watch how many looks you get.

That PDF helps. I had homelink on my old SUV, and had since lost the remote. I had to go to Sears to buy a new remote in order to program the homelink on the mirror. It would have been much easier if the mirror would have picked up the code just from the "learn" button on the opener. It's programmed now, so I'm good.

Oh, and welcome to the boards.

The thing works perfectly now. It took me a couple of tries, but I got it working :)

Welcome to the club! I hope you are as happy w/ your Genesis as I have been with mine. :)
