  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Glad to become a member. Just yesterday I successfully upgraded my nav/software on my 2015 Hyundai Genesis 3.8 (purchased from original owner December '21) to the latest version. WOW what a difference! Since it was just yesterday I still haven't explored all of the differences but I'm so happy I decided to pursue and complete the upgrade. It only took about 45 minutes to complete once I did all of the preliminary stuff on the computer and got the update loaded onto the 32GB SD card. I was hoping it wouldn't take the 3 hours I'd read it could possibly take, and it didn't.

So far my favorite things are having Pandora automatically continue playing after vehicle shutdown/restart and Android Auto. The graphics look a lot better but I'm guessing that must be icon redesign because I'm sure the resolution could not have been improved. For any of you who have an older Genesis but have not attempted the upgrade I can tell you (so far) that it's TOTALLY worth it.

Here is what I had previously:
S/W VER. - ST.DH.USA.E443.140912
FIRMWARE VER. - MICOM.ST.DH.USA.0141.140605 SUBM.ST.DH.BD5.1042.140425
NAVI APP VER. - ST4.NAM.HMC.140625.59139
MAP VER. - NAM.07.43.43.003.001

Here's what I have now:
S/W VER. - ST.DH.USA.E540.220414
FIRMWARE VER. - MICOM.ST.DH.USA.2121.210825 SUBM.ST.DH.BD5.1049.190416
NAVI APP VER. - STD4.NAM.GNS220412.baee125
MAP VER. - NAM.15.41.41.545.001.3

I am happy to answer any questions about the process if anyone is interested.

Looking forward to learning more about Genesis vehicles here. Looking at the '23 GV70 wishfully at the moment. What a beautiful vehicle.

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. I'm glad you found us! Nice navigation update!

Can your passenger play games while you drive?

Unfortunately no 😞 the games won't launch while driving.
When we were teenagers we didn't play games until we were parked at the airport or down by the river. Too distracting while driving.

32GB might be fine as well. I read about some horror stories where people totally destroyed their nav system so I followed the instructions to a T and everything worked out just fine.

Also once I had everything in place my update took around 45 minutes which was less than what others had to wait.

Good luck!

Currently downloading the update on to my computer. Do you have to connect your phone to your car using the cable or do you have android auto wireless now with the update? Once you put the SD card in car and press update it took 45 mins to finish updating in your car?

Yes the update took approximately 45 minutes. The android auto is wired however. Your phone must be plugged in.

I did this update over the weekend and now I cant get the radio to come on with the ignition no matter the setting for that is on or off? Also looks like it lost LEVEL matching vol control setting?3128BA3D-46F9-41A0-AA1C-B2B4B9226A7B_1_105_c.webp

I just updated mine yesterday and I had no problems , I am super happy with the update totally worth it. Did you follow everything exactly as they said to do it on myhundai.com

As far as I know, it installed in about 45 min and no errors.

I just went out and looked at my media settings and are set exactly how yours are. I honestly don't ever listen to the radio anymore but just to test I switched to radio, turned off the car, and then started it up and the radio came right back on.

My normal behavior now that I have Android auto is to plug my phone in just before starting the car. Because I listen to Pandora most of the time that is the app that starts playing when I start the car with the phone plugged in.

I'm not sure what the level matching control setting is but that sounds like the thing that automatically turns your media volume up or down based on interior noise. I don't remember seeing a setting for it but that functionality is definitely still working as well.

If you have the manual for the entertainment center. It was in the settings menu just under sound. It allowed you to adjust the level of sources so when switching from one to another it wasn’t watlouder than the next. I appreciate your help after 30 minutes disconnect the battery I still have the same issue. Looks like my next action is to reinstall the update.
