  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello-
My name is Woody and I'm from Florida. I bought a 2011 Genesis 4.6 today with all the "bells and whistles". I had been researching the car and reading all I could find about it and made the decision today. Although it's one been a few hours, I'm am PUMPED!!!

Welcome. I have one tip, and that is - all drivers of your car read and study all manuals and get to know the car.

I have been reading the manual(s) for two days now off and on and after I read a section, I go and "play" with the car. I've never has so much fun since I got married and my kids were born! :)

I think you are doing it right. Have fun. My wife and I still are discovering a few new things with the DIS and we got the car in Sept 2010 and have over 20,000 miles on it now.

Go and open the sun roof. Take a look at the Wind Screen, if it has a blue tent the protective film is still on the screen, remove it it peals right off.

Feel the top of your DIS control knob if it has a plastic feel the plastic protective film is still on it , remove it. This film is very hard to see as it is clear but if you look closely you can see the edge of the film.

To pull the wipers away from the windshield you must turn the ignition on and than off, raise the wiper stalk on the steering wheel all the way up and pull it towards you. You must do this with in a few minutes of turning off the ignition. The wiper arms should be up, you can now pull them away from the windshield.

The hook that allows the trunk floor panel to be held up while you are removing the spare or working on the battery is on the back side of the panel right behind the cloth felt that you pick the panel up with. You attach the hook to the back trunk edge.

If you do not like the Dunlop tires the :Michelin Pilot Sport A/S, Continental Contact Extreme DWS and Bridgestone Turanza Serenity seem to be popular replacements.

Be Safe and enjoy the ride.....................

Check the size of your upload file, it may need to be smaller like 640x480.
