This technique appears to suffice to solve the original problem. The interior door panel could be reassembled with black duct tape so it will blend in with the rest of the panel.![]()
Haha, I guess you could if you wanted to! All in all the parts cost me $257.46 for the new latch ($74.86) and the used door panel ($182.60) which I think is far more reasonable than what the dealership will charge. Ultimately the added cost was worth it to avoid dremeling the body of the car.
