Help needed RE: any info on new genesis arrivals???

Hello all,

I am in negotiations with a dealer for a new genesis w/tech package. It's not the interior color (or first choice exterior color) that I wanted. Apparently, the brown leather is hard to come by.

This dealer is pushing me hard to buy this car, but I'm not 100% satisfied with it. I'm inclined to wait for more cars to arrive on our shores that match my color prefs.

BUT, I can't wait past the end of the quarter. I would rather drive a platinum/beige than nothing. If I gamble and new cars don't arrive within 3 weeks, I'm hosed. Does anyone have *any* info on new arrivals?? I really need to make up my mind on this one because I'm sure it's going to be gone soon if I don't snatch it up, and the dealer is playing on my insecurities.

Please post if you have any knowledge or have heard from your hyundai dealer regarding shipments.

This dealer is searching other dealers lots. The other local dealers don't have any with brown interior either. I don't think going to another dealer will be able to help much since we already know what's on their lots. There are pretty much no saphire blue tech with brown interiors out there. There is some platinum with black interiors, or a red tech with black interior, but I'm being picky with my color choice which is proving hard to find. This isn't my first dealership I've visited either. We've found only one tech with my secondary color choice, which I'm having second thoughts about. Just curious if more are going to be hitting showroom floors anytime soon.

And for some reason, Hyundai dealers don't seem to know in advance what they're getting. Not sure why that is, but so far 2 dealerships have told me that they will be told what cars are coming their way. Wonder why Hyundai does it that way? Audi allowed me to pretty much order/build the car I wanted if I was willing to wait for it.

Texas, but I'm dealing with dealerships as far west as Phoenix or East as Florida. The Phoenix ones have given me the best deals by far, but have not been able to locate the car I want yet, just close matches. Ah, Texas. Lots of Genesis available in Washington metro area. Fairfax, VA has 20 and Manassas, VA has around 13.

Good luck finding he one you want. Be patient, in a couple more months the V8's will be here.

haha.. Months?? My present lease is up the 5th of next month. Don't have that much time to wait. Might need to go with the one they have if that's the case....

If they sense that you are eager or desperate to buy now, you lose all negotiation power.

If your lease is up soon look at a rental or borrow a car from friends/family until you find the car you want and are happy with.

LOL No I am waiting for the V8, but I am selling my SRT-4 and will borrow a car till I get the car I want.

I practice what I preach And I have patience to a limit (Hyundai is testing my patience though)

Have you tried an internet search of inventory on Autotrader.com? Sometimes the descriptions include color..

Yes I have... There are many dealers with 1-2 Tech's in stock. None have brown leather that are listed, and of the ones I've called, they are black and a couple have beige. I really wanted brown, but I'll probably go ahead and buy the beige leather one.

The real problem with beige, is that it darkens from oily hands on the door handles and places you frequently touch. You always start cleaning the leather frequently, but after a few years it becomes hard to keep it clean. Darker colors are much easier to keep clean. But I don't want another car with black interior, so I might just pull the trigger on this one next week.. Getting antsy...

If that is one you do not really want haggle hard on the price, not like you are going to lose anything but a few minute or hours of negotiation.

There were /are two Black/Saddle V6s in the Nashville area. Same district as Texas I believe.

even if your lease is expiring that should not be your NECESSITY to buy then- your negotiation power- unless maybe I found the car for you- is bad.

i know some dealers on different makes- if you are going to buy a car and it is suppose to be in the dealership soon- like a few weeks or less- depending on how much they want your deal- do sometimes allow you to drive in one of their loaner cars till your
new car comes in...YMMV
