  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

My girlfriend wants this car, 2010 Genesis Coupe, 3.8l, manual trans. Has brembos, a deck lid spoiler, heated seats, and nav. Can you tell me which package this is? More importantly, what is a good price to pay for the car? It has 80k miles and is in very good to excellent condition. The asking price is 12900 but it has been for sale for almost a month. Anything to watch out for? Thank you in advance for your help!!!!

my 2011 rspec is heavily modded and 3 1/2 years old and never had a problem. I really love my car and it gets looks wherever I go and sounds bad ass with the ARK exhaust. The biggest issue is its lowered and also they dont shift particularly well. my Balt SS runs circles on shifting smoothness. there is no lockout really either so its easy to hit reverse. I replaced my shifter but its still not so hot or very much improved. Also clutch takeup is super abrupt. I have driven sticks my whole life and I still stall this car out and never my other 2. So I would say biggest weakness is lousy shifter. Otherwise its a very good car with great Aero and stable at any speed. Mine was at 160 and felt soo smooth. 120 is nothing in this car.

that car is a Track since there were no R-SPECS in 2010. it probably went for close to 30k new. best thing is use KBB and CAR GURUS to find a private party price based on mileage.

OK so 119 people viewed this and only ONE person commented? I guess the almost complete lack of enthusiasm and non existent support is an answer in and of itself.

My wife got a 2013 Genesis Coupe a year ago. It had 19K miles and we paid
around $25,500. They would not budge on the selling price during the dealing, but kept going up on my trade in value until I got the net difference between price I was looking for. My guess is the sales manager got his money on the sale and the trade in value did not effect his personal take. It was a long back and forth before I got what I wanted.

Now, the Coupe has performed great and we enjoy taking it on any trips where we can take the back roads. If we on taking a trip where we spend most of the time on the Interstate, I prefer the Genesis Sedan's extra size and weight.

I would say if the coupe your girlfriend likes in is good shape that the 12K is not a bad price, but as others have said, check with other sources. Also, if she is trading in a car, know what you want to pay in the difference before you go in and stick to your guns even if you have to walk out.

My more than 2 cents worth. Good luck!

We looked at it this morning and my mechanic and I both felt that the car had some coolant in the oil. We also noted passenger rear corner had been repainted. We are not 100% sure, it ran well, felt strong but we walked away. Thanks anyways.
