  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

This is my first post, so hello :) and I could use a little bit of help.

On the Hyundai website they give you only a small picture of the color combo you choose under the "build your own" feature of the site.

I have looked what feels to be everywhere for some pictures of a Genesis that is Titanium Gray Metallic/Brown interior. If anyone has this combo or has come across some pictures in their travels. I would appreciate it if you could post a link or something. Thanks

I actually tried to get one in the V8. They spent a lot of time looking into it, but I was finally told that they cancelled the combination. I think there may have been 1 or 2 V6 models out when we were doing the search.

I have a v6 in titanium/brown,I love it. I liked the brown leather so much,i picked the paint color just to get it. I did not really like any of the other colors that came with the brown and wanted the brown because very few makes of car offer brown/saddle. It looks good with the brown on the dash, premium pkg. They want to sell what they have but I held out and my dealer,Lester Glenn,in NJ traded a dealer in another state,to get me my colors. I'm glad I waited. Sorry not able to send pic. Its got brown trim on dash and doors the rest is black. if they did cancel this color I bet it's back next year, the fact that it was so hard to get means it sold well. Good Luck.

I don't know if this will work or not but I am attaching some pictures from a local dealer that I hope will help you.

To: JWP77, Thank you for your help, the pictures are awesome it is really a beautiful color combo. I'm very much a fan of saddle/cinnamon style interiors, hopefully I will be able to get that combo one day. :D

Thank you to everyone else for your help as well, I'm sure the combo will be back next year. If worse comes to worse and I really want it that bad I can always go custom on the interior. ;)

The first rule they teach you in salesman school, is that if you can't get exactly what the customer wants, tell them they don't make it anymore.

:) Which is why I persited and showed them the Hyundai website. We argued on and off until they called Hyundai directly.

Granted, they still could have been lying, so it would be interesting to see if a dealer on the boards could check to see if there's *ANY* stock of Titanium Gray/Brown in a V8. Thus far, no one has had one when I've checked.

It's always hard to determine based on "dealer stock" because if it is popular, then no one may have one in stock. Someone in another thread claimed that black/black was extremely rare because he could not find one at a dealer, but a cursory look at this forum shows that it is very popular.

You could also check with the Hyundai Regional offices, who are probably the ones who determine which colors actually get ordered from the factory. It is possible that the color combo is available but not many (or none) have been ordered with that combination from the factory.

BTW: if the dealer calls Hyundai North America (or regional office), and they did not order any with that combo, they may say it is not available, but that does not necessarily preclude them from placing an order from the factory with that combination.

Ok, then - I'll rephrase. :) Has anyone (at least reading this forum) seen or purchased a Titanium Gray/Brown in a V8? If so, pictures please!

Another good question - Can you actually place a specific order? According to other posts in the forum, no one (as of yet) has been able to place a specific order.

Hyundai does not do special orders........

It's possible if your dealer has a good relationship with their regional office (although their official policy is not to do it, I verified with my dealer) but the delays involved are quite lenghty (can be up to 6 months before the car shows up) and most dealers won't do it because they would rather sell something they already have in inventory (or is already coming over) than order new inventory they can't be sure they'll be able to sell.

I'm sure if you hold out long enough you'll end up getting what you want but they'll likely rape you on the price when "your" car shows up as by that time the negociating power is all in their hands.

Hyundai, like most foreign car companies, does not sell directly from the factory to dealers in the US. They have a separate distribution company in the US that orders from the factory (based on expected demand) and imports the cars, and then sells the cars to dealers. They usually use pretty much the same setup even for cars made in the US (factory sells to distributor, and distributor sells to dealer). For Hyundai, the distributor is HMA, Hyundai Motor America.

Toyota has the same setup, but recently they worked out a plan where the a dealer can order a car from the factory, but I think that it may only apply to US factories and not cars made overseas (not 100% sure).

Exactly, when they know that you want something specific, they know what type of power they can hold over your head. So any negotiation in your favor is likely to be thrown our the window, I guarantee that my local Hyundai dealer would not go through the trouble of looking for or ordering this color combo just to please the customer if they can really help it, they are the worst in customer service...The next dealer("the good dealer") is 2 hours away...
