Help with 2009 Genesis milage

Hello I’m looking to buy a 2009 Genesis. Someone is selling one for $5000 but it has 189,000 miles. Is this a good purchase and what is the average cost of replacing the engine or the transmission if anyone can help me. Thank you

You can get some idea of value through Kelly 'Blue book. Yours is in the $3300 range. Engine or trans can be in the $3000 to $5000 range depending on rebuilt, used, whatever.

There is risk with that mileage. It may be flawless for the next 50k miles or it can have a major problem tomorrow.

Consider the car disposable. Any major repair will cost more than it's worth.
