  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

hello i have a hyundai genesis sedan v6 and I have a problem the car battery is discharged when the car does not start for a day or two I would like to know if anyone has passed the same genesis 2009

Many people have had issues with the trunk latch. I've left my trunk open by accident for a few days and the battery was dead.

Check the small rubber bumper that presses the switch under the front left side of the hood. If the bumper is missing then the car will not go into sleep mode and the battery will be drained.

This has now happened twice to my Genny. Apparently there is some small space where the trunk appears to be shut (the dash warning lamp does NOT come on) but the trunk isn't closed far enough to turn out the inside light. Two days and the battery is kaput.

I am now in the habit of slamming the trunk pretty hard to ensure it is closed.

:) every time I pull into the garage I walk to the back of the car and try to lift the trunk to make sure it's shut. Twice for me too. First time I tried to jump car from trunk only to realize you can't do that.

thanks for your help tomorrow I will see if any of this is the problem

Where do you jump start the car from?

From the two remote battery terminals on the passenger side of the engine compartment.

Flip up the black plastic cover and you will see two brass-colored posts. Observe the polarity!
