  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Please tell me that someone has devised a way to eliminate the "adaptive' part of the ACC. I just drove 680 miles, suffering the entire way with this stupid mechanism. No need to go unto details but I prefer to control my speed with the cancel and reset controls and attentive driving. Electronics experts PLEASE HELP!!!! 2013 Gennie.

I am pretty sure that there is no manual cruise control option on a 2013 Genesis equipped with ACC. Only the base trim Genesis has manual cruise control.

After a few times, I learned to change lanes when closing on another car.

There is no regular CC. It takes a little getting used to and is a little infuriating when the sensor gets dirty and the CC doesn't work at all. Shortening the reaction distance to min helps a little and learning to pay attention to know when to change lanes also seems to help.

It almost "got" me twice,I was coming up on a slower vehicle in the right lane and had a vehicle approaching in the passing lane. Plenty of time to pass without affecting the passing vehicle. As i moved to the left the ACC slowed me strongly, leaving me half way in the passing lane with the passing vehicle now closing at speed. I HATE this thing!

You can use the accelerator pedal to over-ride when switching lanes to pass. My wife and I love the smart cruise, which is on three of my vehicles.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
The ACC has it's place, and it isn't in high speed high density highway travel.

Perhaps be more descriptive in your subject. Help!!!!! Is just obnoxious. The auto cruise irritated me the first few days. Now I just cancel if someone comes over into my lane or coming up on a car.

I've never used cruise much on any of my other cars even out on the open hwy. I remember the service mgr. telling me about the active cruise system on the Genesis but didn't really understand it until I dealt with it myself out on the hwy. Takes a little getting use to it but no big deal IMO.

Yet another reason why I bought a Premium, rather than the Tech package. Just like with the rain-sensing wipers. Sometimes you can have too much trouble-prone gear.
