  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So earlier today I was looking for a parking spot at my college campus here in northwest Houston, and I came across this 5.0 Genesis with a Hennessy performance decal. Being caught completely off guard thinking that I own the only "modded" genesis 5.0 in my area (modded being a badass sounding exhaust, and "custom" intake), I quickly, and enthusiastically snapped a photo. Does anyone know anything about this? What are your thoughts? Is he just rocking the Hennessy decal and nothing else? Unfortunately I am about a month away from trading in my 2015 5.0 due to the lack of modability, and performance options, and quite frankly, if this Hennessy decal means anything on this car, It'd be the exact type of thing to change my mind about trading my baby in.Snapchat-1777054850.webp

It's just a decal, Hennessy does nothing for Hyundai or Genesis.

If it seriously had any more horsepower, he wouldn't have those tires and wheels on it either. It could have even been a dealer somewhere stuck it on to make the car look cooler.

Yeah, that makes sense. Being a bored and desperate genesis owner, I just had to inquire. IMO no one should put that decal on if their car has never been worked on my Hennessy. It's kind of cheesy. You're right about the tires too. 285s aren't even enough for my car, and he clearly has the stock 275s.

You could always add nitrous. :p

Trust me when I say I have actually SERIOUSLY considered doing that. From what I know, and have learned, nitrous is no more dangerous than going forced induction, it's just how it's applied and used. I was planning on on paying the extra $500 for the emergency shut off kit , which would stop potential engine damage by sensing if it was running too lean, but I'm still a bit of a sissy for that, unfortunately. I've decided to move on to a 2019 Infiniti q50 3.0tt. I plan on doing downpipes, a larger heat exchanger, CAI, and an ecutek tune by AMS. The average hp number for that car with those mods is around 500 crank. I'm all about that "sleeper" status, which is part of the reason I bought my genesis.

I'm betting that's a car dealer decal.

Anyone that lets that crook touch their car is a complete back birth. Hennessy has a horrible reputation in the Mopar and GM world for screwing up owners cars and half ass work and blowing motors at the cost of tens of thousands of dollars then suing owners that don’t pay after he broke their vehicle and told them to pound sand he wasnt going to fix it without more money, even though it was his incompetent workers that f’d Up the car in the first place.
