  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

CPO '15 shipped down from Atlanta.

@sgrenald, you probably didn't want this one and I didn't want the one you got. You came down to my hood for yours and I went up to yours for this. Weird how things work out...

like the color. Hope you enjoy it for a long time.

If you are going to hang out here, consider becoming a member for a few bucks.

@EdP, will consider. And Thanks, Ibiza Blue is what made this purchase a much more arduous process than it needed to be. 'Twas an adventure indeed.

I feel your pain! I’m going to guess that yours is an Ultimate 4WD from Jim Ellis? Did you buy it sight unseen? Since I can stay in Miami at relatives, my cost was a one way plane ticket and a tank of gas.

CONGRATS!! Ibiza blue is the best (and fastest) color

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
But you made two trips already... ?

Unlike you, I ended up driving up. Was being cheap :)

Thanks, and Yup. Sight unseen. Brave huh? Maybe we should've linked up in hindsight. I eyeball for you and you for me. I banked on their rep as they seemed somewhat legitimate and as someone else mentioned on here, sort of like the Rick Case here.

The car turned out scuffed! Lower right rear area before AND after the rear wheel. Someone seriously underestimated the length of the vehicle. The suspicion was that it got scratched freshly before I showed up? Who knows.. Whatever. I had real doubts about getting it after that, but like you said... IBIZA BLUE man! They made good, fixed it up better than new and shipped it down on their dollar. So I guess it's alright. I'm probably in a more forgiving mood than most people.

Since I was planning on getting the car, flying WAS the cheap option. :-) It would have been more expensive to rent and return a car down there.

But we wouldn't have linked up. I live in Savannah. I'm nowhere near Atlanta. Just dropped my 5.0 off at the local Hyundai dealer. They're going to fix the panels under my car, and (hopefully) fix the window. They're also going to do a 150pt inspection, since I'm skeptical that Rick Case did a particularly thorough job. I'm half expecting them to tell me that my front tires need to be replaced. They looked like they were at 4/32 or maybe less, but RC Kia insisted that they were at 5/32.

When I got my 5.0 a year ago, it had things that weren't "picked up" on (thank you Autonation Mall of Georgia). Seal on the trunk was torn up and needed replacement (must have been from golf club bags). Just in front of the left rear tire, it looks like something was hit and bent up a part of the railing (nothing worth fixing, according to my auto body guy). Service had been done, but there was NO RECORD of it. (Was a corporate car that had the service done at the California headquarters) There are a few squeaks in the car begginig for some felt tape. Otherwise, a very clean car.

As for the tires, the Continentals are nothing to write home about. I'm looking forward to my replacements in a few months.

As a side note to all, if you would like to buy a four wheel alignment at Firestone...wait for New Year's Day. I went in and got one (thak you Slickdeals) for $119. $80 off the normal price.

yea, this is what sort of made me relax my expectations a bit after I spoke with someone to vent. it IS a used car. 3 years young at that.. Things happen on the road, parking lots, etc. I lost my perspective for a bit as I wanted the "best" condition car in addition to my selective requirements. Like they say, beggars can't be choosers .. or enter any number of apt idioms here.

So I don't know if this is available elsewhere, but there's a lifetime alignment plan that Tires Plus hands out in my neck of the woods of south florida. It's list price is well over 200, but you can always nag them and get it under that. I don't believe it to be transferable, but it's good for as long as you own the car. It has made me a loyal Tires Plus customer over the years if only to take advantage of that plan, so I guess their trap worked.

This is a really crazy thing with Genesis (and presumably Hyundai ). The service records are not tied to the car, but to the dealership. Totally insane. Which means that it's your responsibility to keep all the receipts in case of a warranty claim or just in general to know what services were done on the car.

So, I have zero service records of the car I bought. If I switch servicing to a closer dealer, they have no idea what was done to the car by the dealer from whom I purchased the car.

In 2005, I bought a 2002 Infiniti and the dealer I took it too had the full history of the car. And this was more than a decade ago. In 2018, it's just plain incomprehensible that all service records on the car is not sitting in a Hyundai data center.

Hmm...I should probably ask Rick Case if they have the full service records. Or pop in there in two months when I go back down...

I highly recommend it. If they don't have them from the auction, PM me.
