  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

OK - consider this a long shot or some type of experiment...

I'm getting ready to buy a '11 4.6 with just over 13K miles on it from Carmax in Atlanta (shipped from Chattanooga). It is Champagne w/Beige interior...

I pulled the carfax and it was a personal driver and seemed to have been serviced just fine etc. (of course I will have it checked out...). Car was sold new by Herrnstein Hyundai in Chillicothe OH, then to Carmax at auction.

Now for the long shot.... What are the chances I could find someone on the forum who is 1) familiar with the dealership and 2) might even know who owned the car I am about to purchase?

VIN ends in ...9101

Let the experiment begin! :)

Chillicothe is a small city about an hour south of Columbus OH. It's really nice place (IMO) and has the typical small Midwestern type feel to it. Mostly older residents...

I don't know the car, nor the previous owner but with that little mileage I'm going to guess it was owned by someone who didn't travel much, or who had multiple vehicles.

Or they defaulted on the loan like previous owner of my car. Just a thought.

or it was a drug vehicle and has bags of Cocaine in the door panels.

If that turns out to be the case maybe there's a profit to be made. But the downside is obvious.

Imagine how much grief Joe Normal would get into if he bought a car with drugs or drug residue thats caught by dog sniffer or whatever....
