  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Model Type
Genesis GV70 EV
Based in the UK (Lancashire) been driving a brand new E-GV70 Dynamic in Saville Silver , and so far I love it ... Very similar controls to my departing Kia EV6 GT LINE S, except a different level of drive and luxury compared to that...Dashcam fitted front & rear and just ceramic coated it last week.

Only gripe is that the frunk doesn't fit the charging cable in like the EV6 otherwise really impressed by the car, comfort & performance...

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. I'm glad you found us. Congratulations on your brand new Electrified GV70! That silver is pretty easy to keep looking clean... Is there anything you miss about the KIA EV6? Can you do a comparison between the two vehicles?

Thanks Sal,

Both cars electronically are very similar as the 77kwh battery on the EV6 delivers very similar distance to that of the GV70. Performance wise again on the GT LINE S it is AWD with the option of Sport mode, but Genesis outscores clearly here on handling , drive and performance with the Genesis giving a heavier feel when accelerating which gives greater confidence and handling.

Seating position of the EV6 is much lower and I prefer the higher seating position of the GV70 , also the front roof pillars on the EV6 are far thicker which obscure your view far more than Genesis which was one of my bug bears. My EV6 had the older CCN head so Android Auto wireless was only via a USB dongle or using a cable direct to the phone so again Genesis wins hands down with the later version, and also the streaming ability via the head. I linked my Netflix account and to be fair I was very impressed.

Driving displays are again very similar, and I liked both versions, simple controls and the HUD more refined on the Genesis as you would expect. The augmented navigation over the front camera in the Genesis is excellent and far superior to the EV6 , I really liked this feature so far. The profile settings for different drivers is more advanced on Genesis with steering wheel auto changes linked to the profile. My EV6 seat memory was often quite faulty and sometimes worked and other times it didn't which was a pain with my wife being much smaller than me.

One of my other major faults of the EV6 was not having a rear wiper !!! Which I really missed so very happy to see it on the GV70.

Space wise I would say the EV6 had a slightly larger boot and frunk, and it was a bit annoying to have the charging cable in a big case in the rear just sitting on the carpet in the GV70 ?? In the EV6 the whole cable fitted in the Frunk along with my emergency start EV generator.

Seat & drive comfort far superior in Genesis and having it's own heating control panel instead of a dual use panel in the EV6 was a big plus.

Overall if I was scoring both on a 10 scale then the GV70 scores a 10 and EV6 scores a 7 but would think the later EV6 GTLine S with the new CCN head would be an 8 due to the extra technology available.

Build quality of Genesis, is and feels far superior to Kia, with far better and superior materials inside the cab which gives that feel of class. Soundproofing and quietness is also very noticeable in the GV70 with road noise nearly eliminated again oozing a feel of absolute quality.

If anyone has any questions please do not hesitate to post up ...😁

Thank you for the comparison. Well, I'm glad you made your way into a Genesis GV70! Definitely a superior automobile in every way. And what a head turner it is... Not saying the EV6 is bad - just not quite a Genesis. Then again, Genesis is a luxury division. I'm a little surprised Kia hasn't brought forth its own luxury brand to compete...
