  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I'm converting my 2012 low beam halogens to HID 5K. Should the HID lamp wire face up or down and why?

Giving it another try...... Can someone who has replaced their factory HID lamps tell me if the lamp wire ends up on top or on the bottom of the bulb when it's installed? Thanks

I'm interested in doing the same. The color temp difference between the curved "brow" lighting and the low beams looks terrible and my low beams seem to have gotten very dim over time.
Ozy44; what are you using as a replacement lamp?

Hi Ozy,

I have stock HID's in mine and the wires face down. Not sure if that's what you were asking about or helps.

Thank you! The reason for my asking is that when you purchase an HID kit to replace your halogen projectors, they come in an "A" or "B" configuration. In other words, wire on top or wire on the bottom. I'll be pulling one of mine out today to make sure I got it right.
