  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Trying to work on a couple things and having trouble finding the info through search here or Google.

On the 2012 R-Spec, are the headlights removable without dropping the bumper? If not, how hard is it to drop the bumper vs removing the airbox / sliding the fusebox to change out the D1S factory bulbs?

I have found this post about removing the headlight but other searches say the bumper has to come down.

Hey

I hope this helps as I have after market HIDs on my Genny. If you look at the tabs around the black shrouds (around the headlights) remove them all.
you will then be able to see the TWIST caps that cover the headlight hole.
Pretty simple. Just take your time and try not to destroy the push caps (like I did).

YOUTUBE headlight change on the Genny Coup. Very detailed.

Simple enough.

Thanks

Ambush

Thanks Ambush. I did change one bulb out before and the biggest problem I had was the screws that hold the bar down that holds the headlights in. I have pretty big hands and with the AFLS, the light assembly moves around pretty easy which makes it harder to get the screws started and then tight again.

I was thinking if the entire assembly would come out that it would be a good bit easier to manage. If not then I just have to deal with the part that sucks! :)

OK, so the FAR easier route was the bumper off path!! I highly recommend that to anyone needing to do it rather than fighting the tiny space without it.
