  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I posted this in the lighting section but figured it would get more traffic over here.

I've done some searching but cannot find much of anything on the subject. While the HID lights on my '15 are nice, I can't adjust them high enough for adequate, forward projection lighting. I see many others have a similar issue with their headlights. It also looks like my passenger side headlight is emitting a different color than the Driver's side. Not sure if replacing the HIDs with LED will help these issues. I see diode dynamics has a conversion kit, has anyone replaced their HID bulbs with LED bulbs? If so, are you happy with the results? Is the forward light projection any better?

LED conversion won’t work in our housings, the reflector will make the pattern super wide and stumpy.

just replace the lamps with Osram Xenarc NBLs. Take out the metal scrunchie that’s used to align the stock lamps and see if your throw improves.

Xenarc lighting is not supposed to be adjusted to where any part of the main pattern is above horizontal. In fact, the top edge isn’t supposed to be hitting more than a couple hundred feet downroad. Use your high beams if you want above the horizon lighting. If you have an issue adjusting the beam height to a usable distance, you need to get a qualified shop to reset the auto level system.

Thanks for the reply. What do you mean by 'metal scrunchie'? I'm going to look into the Xenarcs. Do you have them on your car? Where in Louisiana are you?

Baton Rouge.

The "metal scrunchie" is a weird crush-washer-like device that's installed on the stock lights to help align them correctly and provide tension on the lamp assembly. I removed them because they're annoying and cause a hotspot that's only useful for the high beams.

Yes, I run the Xenarc NBLs on my car. Mine have around 1000 hours on them. I recommend buying from a trusted supplier because there are a LOT of knockoff copies being sold in legitimate-looking packaging.
