  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hid vs led

Im not necessarily swapping out to G80. Just aftermarket led kit for headlights instead of HID kit

Right, what I'm getting at is that the LED kit is not remotely close to OEM LED headlights. Prepare to be severely disappointed.

Will 55w HID kit makes it better than?

To be honest I think 35w HID kit will look better than existing LED kits. The LED kit has some really bad hot spots and crazy uneven light pattern.

55w HID's are brighter for a period of time but eventually dull to the 35w brilliance and can be fraught with problems.
Not to say your G2 can't handle them but they generally require a separate harness with relay, may overheat the lamp housing and melt parts and have a shorter lifespan than 35w HID's.
I'd see if there is a way to install or convert to the factory HID's, barring that a good 35w system in the OEM 4300K color.

Thank you for all your inputs. I have has 55W 8k hid in the past in my genesis coupe ans loved it. Recently i bought 45w white LED for wife’s 2016 hyundai accent and so far we love it. I am going to give it a try on my genesis. Ordered 44w blue LED. I will upsate before and after.

I like it better, basically because of the very crisp white light. This may be more important to old folk like me (70+) Some say the high beams don't project as far as HID, however, I have not noticed any problem with the LED high beams. They illuminate the road well..

I agree but. . . The projector bulbs most cars use in recent years have a very definite cutoff of the light. Fine on a flat road. but I use a couple of back roads with a lot of small hills and turns. You can see the road ahead going off to the side, but very dim as there is little light going off the side and if you are facing down on the road you don't see the next "up" you are approaching. This is a small percentage of the miles traveled but the last but the least safe. Last car with good lights on that road was my '97 LeSabre.

I noticed all installation instructions are for 1 generation genesis. Where can i find detailed instruction? I noticed driver side i can access without taking anythin apart but passenger side intake box is in the way.
