  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hitch installed today

I ordered the OEM harness from the link above (should be here next week) and now have a Draw-Tite Class-3 hitch sitting in my garage waiting to be installed. Install looks simple enough, worse part will probably be un-bolting and moving the exhaust out of the way to get the hitch up into position. Now for some warmer weather.......

but the wiring instructions say to install wiring BEFORE the hitch. I didn't buy the OEM wiring harness until after I installed the hitch myself. The wiring goes through the bottom of body panel and requires removing heat shield that is about ¼" away from the installed hitch frame!

Good info to know, thanks.

The hitch is easy enough if you have an extra pair of hands and ramps. Jack and stands will work too. The exhaust is easy to move. Simply pull away on the 4 rubber hangers from the exhaust (leaving them on the car). Lower the exhaust and install the hitch. Raise the exhaust back up and press rubber hangers back into place.
Let me know if the 6-pin plug in your car is male or female as well as the 6-pin plug on the harness. Mine seem to both be boys.
Thanks!
