  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

This is a bit confusing to me. This is because all the other car reviewers and people I've talked to have said that HKGs lane keeping and adas works better than even like honda and toyota, but apparently, that's changed?

Consumer reports is claiming that HKG HDA II cannot keep the car centered in the lane and that it ping pongs in the lane. I'm confused. Because everyone I've talked to and in my experience the HKG system will stay well centered and take curves. I've heard it's better than honda and toyotas system but apparently consumer reports claims toyota and hondas systems are miles better.

Thoughts! Is consumer reports just biased or is HKG ADAS really that bad?

Our Ioniq 5 ping pongs, my GV60, not so much.

newest sonata is really really good, i think this is a classic case of consumer reports giving favorable reviews only to those who play their game.

My 2017 acura was horrible. My 2018 Audi was better, but people would notice me moving around in my lane and ask me (Jokenly) if I was drunk.
The Genesis is the best so far, but I don't like where it keeps me in the lane. I like to be more to the right. I turned on the learning mode and will see if that will help.

i have an f150 with blue cruise and a g70 with the highway driving assist.

the blue cruise is by far better, but that is because it is a more capable system. With bluecruise, i set my cruise control to 80 and let it do its thing on the highway with little to no input from me, and rarely needing a hand on the wheel. I can also set it so it will read speed limit signs and adjust the speed to them. Its basically a highway self driving tech with a "you dont really need to pay attention" feel to it.

the genesis highway driving assist still needs your hands on the wheel and needs you to provide wheel feedback every so often, so its not an actual self driving thing and more of a "you should probably pay a little bit of attention to what is going on" type of tech.

as far as ping ponging goes, both system do it at about the same frequency for me. it is much more noticeable in a smaller car than a big truck though.

I'm not a fan. Deactivates without warning during curves and does not do a good job staying in lane when highway curves. The sudden deactivations are dangerous.
