  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So, assuming like some that the front license plate mount was not an option but mandatory on some models, is there anyone that has attempted to fill in the 3 ugly screw holes to the front for a cleaner look? Although some states require 2 plates...hence I am referring to those in states that manage to get by with one tag.:) I had the thought of placing a novelty Korean tag to the front (like some BMW owners place German plates), however they don't seem to exists for purchase (I'm speaking of the green tags with white lettering).

The car is delivered to dealers without holes. The holes are then punched out and used to put the plate frame in locations that require a front plate. A body shop should be able to help you out.

I guess that's what I get for believing the salesman, as he stated it just came off the boat and they haven't had it on the lot but for 3 days. Oh, and this and no surrounding states require 2 plates...go figure on their rationale for adding this.

I didn't want any holes in mine... but the dealer got to the car before I could tell them no.

I left the small little plate holder on there. If I ever get bored, I'm putting my Euro plate from my old car on the Genesis.

If you've got money to burn... you can try these: https://www.bumperplugs.com/index.php?route=product/category&path=1_11_80

Thanks for the link. Going to see what the dealer's "touch-up" guy can do tomorrow. If it looks like a shady deal, then at least there is another option rather than keeping this eyesore on the front.

You can always buy bumper plugs and paint them body color.
I live in PA and found my Genesis in NY which luckily had not been prepped yet. No front plate holder installed.

My car came with a small plastic bag in the glove box with some black rubber boots (for lack of a better word). The bag had writing on it that said something about a license plate. Never did know how they were to be used. Don't even know where they are now. Can anyone tell me what they were?

Definitely comes with no holes for the front plate. The only thing there is a couple of little dimples which act as a guide to installing the front plate tray if required.

I made darn sure when I ordered to tell them if they drilled the holes they would need to install a new bumper cover on their coin, needless to say they did not drill. Also mentioned I want no sticker or advertisment of the dealership and even if they put it on it would be gone as soon as it hit my garage, needless to say, no advertisements. :D Little things you learn as you age and get more experience.

I also agree with you on the dealer stickers. I asked a dealer a few years ago when purchasing a new car, to take the stickers off of the trunk. He asked why, and I insisted that unless they would like to pay me for rolling advertisement, it needed to come off.

I always add it the sales contract that the car will be delivered without dealer decal. I initial it, and make sure that the dealer initials it also (since it is a handwritten addition to the contract).
