As with other reports on this forum, I've had trouble with the Home Link forgetting the code for my garage door. While what I write here may NOT be true, it appears to me if I press the Home Link button for more than an instant (I'm talking quick tap), the Home Link forgets the code. Also, if I were to press the Home Link button when the car is off, it also the forgets the code.

I know this doesn't make sense, but that's what I think I've observed.

Do you have led lights in the garage opener or near or around the garage door?

I have observed the same. Drove me nuts trying to get and keep three cars and one portable remote all in sync. Pressing home link on door motor more than a second was disaster. Same inside the car. I gave up for a week, came back and discovered the lighter touch was the most effective. That makes more sense having gone through it.

Yes, there are LED lights on the porch, but they're only on at night and for the most part, I would say the Home Link seems to mostly if not always go bonkers during the day. I first went with button 1, resetting it at least once. Then I switched to button 2, with the same pattern. Now I'm back to button 1. And I truly believe if I press the buttons for more than a quick tap, the system loses the settings, requiring yet another reset program.

After the first couple of times it happened, I asked my dealer's head machanic about it and was told they couldn't do anything about it other than replacing the whole unit (mirror).
