If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I just purchased a 18 G80 Sport. And have noticed the home screen will allow you to move to each icon, but won't let you choose them. I have tried touching the screen, as well as the center knob. Neither will let me enter into any app. Or it will freeze when in an app. Can't change the radio or use the navigation. Anyone experience this?

Yep, I am experiencing the same thing. 1st time yesterday Looking for some direction. Perhaps an update of software?

Only thing I can suggest is to do a reset of the system. On the front panel toward the right above the CD slot pus the button with a ball pen or paper clip.

If that does not work, see your dealer.

I've had this happen a couple times in the past week. Turning the car off/on seems to fix it for me. Never had any issues for the prior 3 years

I upgraded to 14.10 about a month ago(wish I hadn't with the radio sort UI change), however, these issues are popping up after 3 weeks of it working fine. Maybe a Connected Services issue hosing it?

I've also had an issue with SiriusXM cutting in/out on occasion. Not sure if it's related.

The 14.10 upgrade is very buggy/poor. I've done 4 previous updates with no issues. Subsequent to installing 14.10 last week, I can switch to/play XMSirius radio. 5 to 10 minutes later channel controls (screen, jog or steering wheel switch) become unresponsive. I can switch to other sources (AM/FM etc.) and sound/controls work. Attempting to switch back to SiriusXM sound to goes away for 10 seconds, screen does not switch to XMSirius and it returns to original source (e.g. FM radio) and FM audio resumes. Stopping car for 5 minutes and restart restores XMSirius functionality, but issue re-occurs. Pushing the DIS/Navigation reset button is on my troubleshooting to do list.

I also notice the screen periodically returns to home screen without any input from me.

Thanks for the suggestion Epd, Everything is working today but did the reset anyway. Will see how it goes. I also looked at the information screen but could not determine if I have the appropriate SW versions etc. Guessing the dealership can confirm.

I purchased a 2018 G80 Sport last week. I've noticed most times I drive it the siriusXM portion of the infotainment becomes unresponsive. It will typically still play music but I won't be able to change stations. The cursor will still move and appear as though I selected a different station but nothing happens. At this point I can still get to home screen but when I select siriusxm it won't go there. I haven't tried navigation. I believe the vehicle was still running the original maps when I bought it. I tried doing the update to see if that resolved the issue. It made no difference. I don't believe the latest update is the cause of this issue we're experiencing.

This is exactly the issue I am having on my 2018 G80 Sport. This did not start until I installed the latest 14.10 version (November 23rd, 2020 release) of the update last week. I am still convinced it's the latest 14.10 update causing the issue.

What is the part number on your SD card?
What is the DIS information from your vehicle.

I'm having exactly the same problem with SiriusXM in my 2019 w/ Ultimate and I have NOT installed the update. While I'm not happy the issue is happening, I am encouraged that it may not be defective hardware.

When did the problem start?

I knew the update would screw up the presets so I didn't want to install it but I figured I'd give it a try before having the dealer take a look at it.

I don't use Sat radio, but my data subscription for traffic is still active and since the 14 update I get an error that the antenna is disconnected, but then the data loads after a few minutes.

I've had my fair share of issues with the XM data integration since I bought the car, for the most part the 3 years of free have only been useful for a hand full of weeks.

Thankfully I have Carplay so I don't care.

I still have 13.47 and have the same freezing problem. Resetting the head unit only fixes it for about 15 minutes. Very frustrating. Hoping Genesis is working on a fix. I am not wasting my time with the dealer when this is a shared problem across the g80 platform.

Just went to my dealer for service on 19 G80. Am having the same issues as everyone else and I have not done any upgrades recently from Mapnsoft. He told me that it is a major issue and they are working on a fix. He seems to think that XM has changed something which causes the problems with the freezing issues.

We will have to wait and see what happens.

Frustrating for sure, Genesis really promotes the connected services bs and its been unreliable from day one for me.
Embarrassing to have passengers in your fancy car and the infotainment doesn't function. I've been hesitant to download the newest version.

I'm having the same issues as everybody else. I upgraded to 14.10 a month ago and it seemed to work fine for a couple weeks and then about 2 weeks ago I've noticed the following:

  • Random Freezing screen
  • Unable to change the SiriusXM Channel (Each channel shows "Acquiring Signal...")
  • Periodically SiriusXM pauses and it flashes "Featured favorites updated" on the top of the screenand then SiriusXM starts up again
  • Randomly going to the Home screen

I've reset everything to Default settings in the System Info screen and did a reset of the head unit by pushing the button right above the CD player for 5+ seconds and the issue just comes back.

There might be something to the SiriusXM theory causing the issues since I didn't have any issues for the first 2 weeks after the update AND there are some people experiencing the issues without updating. Since then, I noticed the issues occasionally, and now it happens EVERY time I drive. I tried timing how long it takes before the issues start popping up, but it seems to be random.

The only fix is to either turn off the car or do a hard reset of the unit, but that only fixes it temporarily.

My warranty is nearly up and I thought about taking it to the dealership, however, this is clearly a software issue(possibly SiriusXM content) and not a hardware issue since a lot of people are experiencing the same behavior for the past couple weeks.

Please share if you find the magic bullet.

I updated to 14.1 in January. I don't have Sirius XM.
No issues.

Having the same issue with XM on my '19 Sport. Following.

I'm using the latest update (14.10) and had no issues for a few weeks but the system has locked up a few times recently. Navigation freezes, digital clock stops, can't change radio stations but Android Auto navigation and Pandora still work. Don't subscribe to Sirius/XM music but still have Sirius Data through Genesis (3 year).

I belong to the G80 Owners page on Facebook. One of the other members reported on there that it took two new head units being installed & a complete satellite radio antenna replacement to correct the issue. I have an appointment with my dealers on Tuesday. I emailed the service department a video of how the head unit is behaving but they are unsure of how to address the problem? Hopefully one of us will get a definitive answer on how to fix this problem so that we can share it with the group.
