Home screen freezes up

Exactly same issue with my 2018 G80 Sport. Dealer picked up car today then called to say it’s a Sirius issue and dealer had received an email about it. Then why the hell did they take my car in?
Sadly, I think that this form of communication is more effective than the support the dealers get from Genesis USA. My dealership received an email a few weeks ago indicating that the home office was aware of it and they were "working on it." Several other owners in my area also are not happy about this issue.
 
I don't know about anyone else but bourbon streets problems sound much more serious than anything we've experienced . I haven't seen anything in any of the threads that describe what he is saying. sounds to me like you got serious issues! Well not you personally but your car does.
Since disabling XM traffic and data link I have had no issues whatsoever with the XM freezing. my nav works fine also. 2018 3.3 sport

How did you 'disable' yours?
 
Cancelled the XM subscription and started a new one
Pretty painless. You'll get a credit for the unused portion that you paid for, then apply it to the new subscription.

I tried to "suspend" the XM data subscription and they informed me that it was not tenable, but I could cancel it. Cancelling it only gave me a paltry $15 credit or refund, so I did not cancel it yet. When I asked them if they cancelled it, they did not. Yet, it was "cancelled" when I looked at the screen today while driving. Since XM didn't cancel it, perhaps Genesis did so. I also asked the XM personnel if they heard about any incompatibility issues with Genesis software and they were clueless. No surprise since their call center is overseas and no one I talked to is from the USA....

Was your XM traffic and XM Data part of the 3 year Trial that was given on a new car?
 
Update on my XM Subscription:
I called XM and told them I wanted to Cancel my Current Subscription, because of the freezing problems and then I would renew for another year. I had 4 months on the remaining Subscription which they refunded to my Credit Card and then Charged the Full year to the same Credit Card. My New Subscription now does not show the Travel Crap anymore. -- Hopefully this fixes the problems I have been having for a month or so.

We are aware of the current freezing issue. There seems to be an issue with SiriusXM and their travelink service that causes the system to lock up. This is currently being investigated by Sirius and the AVN manufacturer. In the mean time, we are able to have the travelink features temporarily disabled based on your VIN number, this seems to restore functionality until a better solution is found. Also, as far as I know, the Red Light Camera indicator is within specification on US Vehicles according to your description.

I contacted MapnSoft directly yesterday and received replies right away. I think everyone will have do the same thing.
Thanks! I'll keep that in mind if I see that XM data/traffic is still functional. Yesterday it appeared to be uninstalled, but I'll check again today. I wonder if MapnSoft uninstalled it without me calling them.

2) SXM Travel Link (weather, fuel prices, movie listings, sports scores and stocks)

Based on my current information the issue is with SXM Travel Link.
My 2018 G80 3.3T Sport (9.2"HD screen) was affected by this issue starting late January 2021.
Feb 19, 2021 my complimentary SXM Traffic AND Travel Link subscription expired. After subscription change was pushed to my car that day the issue went away.

Oddly, a SXM subscription update was pushed to my car Feb 26, 2021 (notified on car screen) adding SXM Traffic back in. I suspect Genesis/Hyundai or MapnSoft requested SXM make this change. SXM radio continued to function correctly after this subscription updated.

SXM Traffic is shown SUBscribed in car. Not shown in my SXM account online.
SXM Travel Link is shown UNsubscribed in car. Not shown in my SXM account online.

My 2018 G80 is having the same problems. Actually got it to the dealer when it was “locked up”. But as soon as they connected their diagnostic device to the car, the screen un-froze. Very frustrating. It’s happening every time I start the car now. I’ll do a hard reset tomorrow and report back.

There are at least 2 ways to get the the SiriusXM subscription screen for the 2018 G80 w/ 9.2" touch screen. Your mileage may vary with other years, models and screen types.
1) Change to SiriusXM (use hard button on dash)\Menu\More Features\Subscription Status\
2) Home\SiriusXM Data\Subscription (upper right corner). Page 37 of 2018 G80 DIS-NAV Manual
The exact text may vary, because I am doing this from memory (a poor memory at that!).

The Genesis manuals are available online for free here. Very useful and easy to search in versus hardcopy versions of the G80 manuals.

SXM "unsubscribed" Traffic/Travel yesterday.

Happy to report that the Freeze/Lockup problem with radio and Nav screen appears to be resolved!
 
Removal of the SXM Travel link subscription resolves the issue.
I have SXM Travel Subscribed and Travel Link UNSubscribed and no longer seeing the SXM radio channel changing issue.

Thank you for your thesis. I cancelled both Travel Link and Traffic before I saw this. My complimentary subscription did not expire until December 2021. I have not had any further issues so I concur with your conclusion. Because there is no Genesis dealer in Tucson, I cannot take advantage of the concierge service and now had to cancel other so-called features that I paid for. I have to drive 2 hours to north Scottsdale for an oil change or any services. I'm disappointed that Genesis has not reached out to its customers that were affected by this latest glitch. I have had a support ticket in for a week now to help with a password reset and when I check on it I am informed that their systems are still down. I think they have been down for several weeks now. Really love the car but will not consider another Genesis.
