  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hood overlap

Surprised no one has posted a picture of this yet.

Most people have been able to get it adjusted so this doesn't happen. I don't have the issue with mine at all. I also hear a lot of people not finding anyone that provides very good service when you're working through Hyundai. Is there another dealership you can try?

The poor hood alignment is one of the main reasons I will not purchase the GV70 right now. It stands out like a sore thumb. And the front of the hood has an overbite. I like the rest of the vehicle, but will wait till they do something about this flaw or go elsewhere. Genesis wants to hang with the big dogs. They better listen and take note from the consumers.

The hood "overbite" is not a flaw. It is intentional design and look. You may not like it but definitely is not a flaw. At first sight it seemed little weird looking but after a while, I am used to it and think it adds a bit of character. The idea was supposed to resemble a trojan soldier helmet. Anyway, looks are subjective but I kind of like it now after a few months of ownership. Others have pointed it out and when I tell them of the intention of the design, then they thought it was pretty cool.

My hood looked like it was going to fly off at 70 with a 20 mph cross wind.

It is just weird and probably not aerodynamic. The main flaw that I see with brand new GV70s sitting on dealers lots are what the others are talking about. Uneven gap along the entire edge of the hood to the fender... and not the same from side to side.

I took the car above 100mph a few times to check vibration issue. I didn't experience any vib.
Then maybe it is a build flaw, which would mean my hood vibration can be fixed.

Sure should be nice when people try and describe what they are taking about. Here’s an idea…. Post a pictures, then we can see what the issue is here because for the life of, I can not figure out what everybody is talking about.

Hi All

I have a 2024 GV70 and I noticed this as well. I have a gap where the front hood meets the quarter panel on the Passenger side, but on the driver's side there is no gap. What to do?

I noticed the same thing, after delivery. The dealer said that he has seen this a lot and that it will be an easy fix. For a luxury car, pretty sloppy assembly.
