Same here, 6 months with the black 3m seam sealer and my hood is still like a rock!
I will do the same to my hood as you with 3M seal sealer since I have noticed recently that my hood flutters a bit while going 70mph or faster.Same here, 6 months with the black 3m seam sealer and my hood is still like a rock!
The information I learn is why I love forums. Save me thousands $$$$ over the years on all my cars by not relying on a mechanic or dealer to solve my car related issues. The fun things I learn from here. All of mine are busted loose too and the hood flutters like sheets in a breeze.
Tightening up the hood will definitely raise the speed at which the hood flutters. I did a yarn stringer test a long time ago and determined there was a low pressure zone at the base of the windshield that was lifting the hood, but I wrote it off as a flimsy hood at the time and never checked the internal mounting. The information I learn is why I love forums. Here is how my hood sits in the front now. Before it sat a tab higher in the front which may have allowed too air flow to get pass the front hood seal which moves the hood at high speeds. Just a guess. I will report if my hood flutters less after this adjustment.
