I will do the same to my hood as you with 3M seal sealer since I have noticed recently that my hood flutters a bit while going 70mph or faster.

Crap, my 2015 Genesis is becoming a project car as of late. However, I still like my Genesis though and will keep it a while longer.

I decided to try adjusting my hood height first before gluing anything by adjusting the four rubber hood leveling posts. My hood sat a bit high in the front so it may not have been sealing out the highway air properly which allow the air to move the hood at high speeds.

Now my hood front seems to be more flush with the rubber seal; so hopefully that will solve my hood movement issue due to a better seal against airflow.

The information I learn is why I love forums. Save me thousands $$$$ over the years on all my cars by not relying on a mechanic or dealer to solve my car related issues.

Here is how my hood sits in the front now. Before it sat a tab higher in the front which may have allowed too air flow to get pass the front hood seal which moves the hood at high speeds. Just a guess. I will report if my hood flutters less after this adjustment.

Tightening up the hood will definitely raise the speed at which the hood flutters. I did a yarn stringer test a long time ago and determined there was a low pressure zone at the base of the windshield that was lifting the hood, but I wrote it off as a flimsy hood at the time and never checked the internal mounting.

Success!!! I was able to drive the car on the highway today up to 86mph with no noticeable hood flutter or vibration. I was assuming that the hood motion on the highway was something that I have to get used to, but a little hood adjustment solved the issue.

I do not remembering the hood always moving; so my hood may have been adjusted when I had to have my car left fender repaired by a body shop a couple years ago. I assumed that it was just a result of a misaligned hood from the accident that was never going to be right again or just a very flimsy hood that I just now noticed was moving. Well, anyway the hood fluttering/vibration issue is solved.
