  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hopefully the last repair(s) I ever have...

So my '15 5.0 finally hit its basic warranty expiration. Only 22,000 miles on it. A few days before the warranty was up I took it in to get the side mirror and door latch replaced. Parts were not available and put on back order. Took the car to get the oil changed and the guys told me the pan was leaking. Once the parts arrived I took it back and added the oil leak issue. Because I brought it back when it was out of warranty the dealer had to get approval from corporate which took a week. I have it back now and everything seems to be working, but I think it's time to move on. The motor feels like it would run forever, but I wonder how much interior stuff and electronics will keep failing.

Everything that has broke since buying it new:

Moonroof replaced - would open but bound up trying to close
Left rear taillight replaced for water intrusion
Drivers front window motor replaced - would not move
Drivers side view mirror replaced - motor for retraction stripped its gears out
Passenger front door latch replaced - unable to open the door from the outside
3rd brake light replaced because the rubber lip crumbled into dust
Drivers front seat back shell replaced as the mounting clips broke
Oil pan gasket replaced due to leaking

I bought the Genny during the great employee pricing binge when they were taking ~$14,000 off the sticker. It has been a great car to drive and take on trips. I traded in a truck for it and now it's time to go back to my redneck roots. I hope yall continue to have good luck with yours, but really consider the extended warranty!!! I will miss winding up that V8 though...

that is bummer on having so many issues, I can relate but am hanging in there awhile longer, about 1 yr out of warranty. always a bit of a crapshoot on a first year car, fingers crossed that with the repairs done under warranty, it will be a good car for the next owner. good luck on your next ride!

Interesting. My 2015 Ultimate 5.0 has 73k miles and mainly only have some minor cosmetic issues that i replaced like the gear shift indicator(bubbled window) and gear shift knob(peeling chrome). The other issues are the headlights UV coating peeling and the wiper/signal stalks chrome trim peeling. As well as the window pillars and sunroof trim fading.

All the worn looking parts can be replaced/covered fairly easy.

The engine and transmission has been spot on so far. I may only use my extended warranty for one item which is the reverse camera that do not switch out of the normal view mode. It has been that way since I bought the car two years ago used. However, normal view mode works for me so no need to repair it. I was waiting for the camera to go completely out before replacing it under the warranty, but I may do it just before my warranty expires if it keep working like it is now.

My 2015 has been pretty solid so far all and all.

Good luck on your next ride.

Wow - that sucks, I'd ditch it too. Must have been built on a Monday.

At 85K my 5.0 Ultimate's been relatively trouble free and holding up well... I did recently have to replace an alternator though ($350 w/ labor)

What did you do about the UV coating on your headlights? Mine is currently starting to peel and I need a solution.

Same thing happened to me in my 18 G80.
Had them replaced under warranty

I have a ‘15 Genesis. Warranty work isn’t an option for me.

Nothing yet. The peeling is still in the upper edges of the light housing so not very noticeable unless someone is close to the car at eye level.

To correct it; I will wet-sand the peeling factory UV coating off the lens, polish the headlights and then apply an liquid aftermarket UV coating that will probably only last a year before needing to be reapplied. The factory UV coatings are usually good for years before peeling away.
