  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Has anyone had a horn go dead? I had my ICCU replaced three weeks ago and the car has been driving and operating as expected, till this AM.

Rubbed up against the horn by accident getting it, no honk. Thought it was odd, pressed the horn no honk. Turn the car on, no honk. Turn it off and on again, no honk.

Will check fuses and disconnect the 12v tomorrow after the rain clears.

Fuse would be #1 suspect. I hope it isn't anything more significant than that.

Horn Broke, Watch for Finger

15A mini fuse was fine. Will have to check this out at the dealer with the 5k maintenance.

Is your maintenance coming up soon? As little as I may use it, I wouldn't want to be without a horn for long.

I have gone thru 3 horns on my 23 GV70. Covered by warranty but a pain each time.

This thread is killing me. I have never tested this horn, or for that matter any horn, before I needed to use it. This is 75 year old technology. It is required by law in any and all jurisdictions. How can a modern luxury car have a chronic horn failure issue. :(

Anything can fail. I used to listen to an automotive podcast where the podcaster said that "NEW" stands for "Never Ever Worked". I have also never thought to test a horn.

So...any part of a car can fail including the horn. How many of these may indicate the care and attention of the maker, hence J.D. Power focusing on initial quality. I, for one, am more interested in critical expensive components. So I tend to focus on the CR reviews. The horn is critical but not expensive.

BTW you are not correct...the automotive horn is approximately 125 year old technology!

Where is the fuse box located?

Where is the fuse box located?

There are two.

One under the hood, on the right as you face it from the front (where the horn fuse is).

Second is behind the plastic panel near the driver's left knee.

See below for labels.

You sir sound like a very intelligent person so answer a question for me. Does a light bulb put off light or absorb darkness. I can never get this answered from a scientist.......:P

Well, my horn works (for the moment), but - wow- is it ever weak sounding. On previous cars, I've replaced the stock horns (there are usually two) with Hellas. But on the GV60, I'm not sure I could even find them!

Well...I am not a scientist. My three year older brother had two 800s on his college boards and is a scientist studying human memory. So I ran away from hard science to the social sciences so as not to directly compete with my older brother.

My non scientific understanding is that a light bulb emits light and the "dark sucker" theory is really just a long running April Fools Day joke. But, to quote Pope Francis, "Who am I to judge".

Does a light bulb put off light or absorb darkness.
Is this perhaps a joke?

If not a joke, a light bulb emits photons. In other words, it emits light.

Darkness is simply an absence of photons.

My horn stopped working and the cause was internal shortage through the horn. Dealer replaced both the low and high sound horns. Everything works fine now.
