  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

How did you fix your wheel alignment issue?

Pulls to the right, pulls to the left-I am reading many postings about this issue but how did you fix the problem? My 2011 4.6 pulled a little right until a tire rotation at 10k miles then no issue (all season dunlops). I had my snow tires (hankook icebears bought used from the dealership with 2k miles) put on a couple weeks ago and the car is constantly pulling right. Spoke with a local Firestone tech (good reputation in my area and where I had the snow tires put on) and he said the only alignment adjustment on this vehicle is toe in or toe out, no castor or camber. On a clear stretch of highway, I drove in the right lane and car pulled to the right. I then drove the exact same stretch of highway in the left lane (yes for oncoming traffic but it was clear) and the car pulled to the left. How did you fix your wheel alignment problem? Did you have an alignment done at your local dealership?

There are caster and camber adjustments and there are new alignment specs on the Hyundai Service web site. Also, many times a pull is due to a bad radial tire as proven by your pulling going away when you rotated the tires. Take the car to your dealer to have it checked, including rotating tires front to rear to see if the pulling/drifting changes.

There's a new TSB for the 2012 Equus that may apply here too. Maybe your dealer can look at it? You can see it (very involved) at the HMA Service site. Registration is free.

Thanks - I will check out your suggestions!

I am not suggesting that an alignment issue doesn't exist, but also consider this - if your car pulls to the right when you are on the correct side of the double yellow line and pulls to the left when you are on the wrong side of the double yellow line remember that most roads are crowned in the middle to aid water flow. Your "pull" could simply be the result of gravity combined with a crowned road surface.

Did the wheel swap and no difference still pulled. I found out there are adjustments for both the front and back wheels during a free check at Firestone. They use a a $60k Hunter road force balancing machine (it contains the specs I guess). Anyway paid the $150 for lifetime alignment at our local Firestone and she is straight as an arrow. I did not think it was my snow tires as they are smooth up to 110mph.

Other threads about pulling needed alignments done EXACTLY to spec, not just "within tolerances." Taking care during the alignment to adjust right to the service manual specs seems to have helped several other cars on the forum.
