  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2G Genesis Sedan (2015-2016)
Theres a non certified 2015 Genesis 5.0 I like at a non hyundai dealer but they offered a third party warranty through Assuriant which I dont want to go with. Do I have any other options besides going with a third party warranty. I am in Florida and was interested in a HPP.

Thanks.

If you are outside the 5 year/60,000 mile warranty, you can't get an HPP.

Why do you not want an Assurant extended warranty? I have been using them for years with various cars I financed through USAA( included the cost of warranty in my loan payments for a few more dollars a month) and they came through the one time I needed it on a crappy used 2011 Ford Edge AWD back in 2014 that was slightly past the 3 year the body-to-body warranty period when I bought it. The repair was about $1200 which was about the cost of the warranty plus it paid for a rental since the local Ford dealer did not provide loaners for non-warranty repairs. Money well spend on that car, however it was a Ford so I should have known better to buy it even though it look very nice and loaded.

To be honest, I never needed to use the warranty on most of the cars it covered because I traded them about a couple years later before any major issues occurred.

My used 2015 Genesis 5.0 Ultimate purchased in 2018 is covered by Assurant until 110K miles or year 2023 bumper-to-bumper including all the electronics. Not perfect, but it gave me more coverage that I had at the time since my car already had about 40k miles on it when I bought it and only had the 5 year/60k mile factory power-train warranty.

My advice, just buy the Assurant warranty that covers everything(electronic, hoses, rental, etc) and finance the warranty into the car loan. The Genesis is nice, but it does have some issues that could be pricey to fix without warranty coverage. Assuant may not be HPP, but it better than nothing.
