  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I'm coming up to a year of ownership of my Genesis and so far outside of replacing my tires earlier than expected my Genesis has been holding up remarkably well. The paint job is fantastic as so far no paint chips on the hood or front end. No dings (knock on wood) or scratches. The leather on the inside is still near perfect. The surfaces of the knobs, information control have held up perfect. All the technology has performed as expected.

Purchased 4.6 14 months and 14,500 miles ago. Only issue was xm reception which was addressed and corrected. Regular service only and tire rotations. Knock on wood!!

I purchased in Sept of 08 so I've got 16 months and 34,000 miles. My OEM tires are looking pretty worn, but I'm still hoping to make 40,000 with them. Other than that no major problems. The vehicle has developed a dashboard rattle that seems to be getting worse and I have a couple of small "bubbles" on the front grill where the chrome appears to be preparing to peel off. I'll have the dealer look at those items next time I'm in. Overall a good experience so far, but I'll make my judgement by how far I can go after 100K miles without trouble.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Almost perfect in 7 months and 7600 miles.

I had a few electrical "gremlins" early on, but they have all gone away. I have had the AFLS light go on 3 times during this time. It goes off with a restart. I had the navigation reset itself once. No gremlins at all in the last 3 months.

Check out Truedelta.com. Better yet, input your experience there. They collect vehicle repair data and there are quite a few data points for the Genesis.

2009 4.6 now 1 year old with 20K on the odometer.

I haven't had any real issues (dead battery).

What I am really happy with is the lack of wear,
Seats still look new.
I have avoided paint chips.
no rattles (usually an issue by now).

The thing I like best after 12 months and 20k miles is NO RATTLES. Car is solid.

I purchased my car in 10/08, it currently has 24,225 miles on her and knock on wood not one issue. I am averaging about 27 mpg on the highway and 21 around town with regular gas. Everything still looks new other than a minor windshield chip(fixed) but I know it is there.
I have had my tires rotated twice, coming up on the third time and they still look good, I hope to get 45K from them.
My dealer has been great, Lester Glenn.

Good luck to all

18 months, 14k miles. No real problems aside from a small paint defect fixed under warranty.

The car still feels/looks new.

What kind of paint defect? My car is currently at the bodyshop getting the rear bumper repainted because the trunk lid was not aligned properly.

34k on the stock tires? Mine were dead at 16k. You must never need to turn..
I know, it is a reflection of my driving habits, but 34k well done.

I have 20k on my stock tires so far, and they probably will be worn out at
30k. I normally take it easy around town, and in every day driving, however, on the three longt trips I've taken, (Phoenix, Rochester and Roswell), I tend to drive it FAST on the Interstates. (I.E. - grass does not grow under my tires when I'm on a trip <grin>)

What ever happened to tires lasting 50 or 70k? I had a 1983 Buick LeSabre, with a 5 liter V8 (not that powerful, I know) and rotating the FIVE oem General tires, they lasted me 80k. (OK, if it had four tires, like most new cars, the four would have lasted about 65k). I took many long trips with that car, yes, at high speed, and they still lasted me 80k.

one year, 14,500 miles, no problems whatsoever, no disappointments, great car.

After seeing comments on this forum I had budgeted to get mine replaced at the 20-25k mark, but when I got there they seemed OK, so I just kept rolling. Now I'm shooting for 40k. I'll admit that I drive ~100 miles a day mostly on the Interstate or major highways, so yeah, pretty straight.

So far, so good. I bought in Aug., '08 (V6 Premium Plus), and now have over 31K miles on it. I've had excellent fuel mileage (avg. 28-30 hwy, 22-24 city), have just replaced factory tires last week (see thread about replacing OEM tires for details). Have replaced windshield wipers twice, other routine maintenance as well. I've been very happy with this car. It has been one of the best purchases I've made, and I'm very glad I did. People still stop me and ask what I'm driving! I had a customer call me the other day just to tell me about the article in Fortune Magazine and their high praises of this car!

Hope everyone else is having as good fortune as I!

nearing the year mark, no problems (knock on wood). starts without issue in the sub-zero weather. interior and exterior not only look like new, but I'm still think the exterior design is great and will hold up (style-wise) over time. In the past year I've had a chance to reflect on the purchase and re-consider the options. Although a completely different category, my 2nd choice was a Camry, so the new news about recalls makes me even more grateful for my choice.
