  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

How is it that Hyundai employees don't know people are driving the Genesis?

I really don't get it.. People are calling Hyundai USA customer service and are shocking representatives who have no idea the Genesis has been sold yet. People are still hearing "they should be at dealerships in a few weeks". Isn't this the biggest initiative in Hyundai Automotive history?! Has NOBODY sent out a MEMO that the Genesis is cruising the streets of America?!

Isn't is amazing (infuriating), isn't it? I've always maintained that if the Genesis fails it will have nothing to do with the actual car. Someone needs to overhall communications between the various departments of the company to help ensure everyone is on the same page. Even their website, which now lists the Genesis, still doesn't have the 2009 Azera (even though the 2009 has been on dealer lots for nearly 2 months). I wish I could explain why this is happening, but I'm just a lowly Genesis owner with very little insight out of what I see/hear from others.

They could be referring to the V8 Tech, which would make their statement true. :p

I spent 30 minutes on an email to two people at Hyundai USA a couple of nights ago. One replied. I received the most robotic response. They didn't even read my message.

GOOD NEWS! I was the one who reported the call yesterday. Today THEY CALLED BACK! I was shocked.

Apparently my issue [the coupons] got escalated, and someone "higher up" requested the customer service rep call me back and verify there was actually a "Genesis Forum", and there were REAL customers driving the car. They made no promises, but they do seem to be getting the picture that real sales are going on ahead of the tour, and loyal customers are getting screwed out of the coupon because the tour hasn't reached them yet. Time will tell.

Sidenote: My sales guy is getting his one day region training on Genesis, today!

I had thought that I had read that the big marketing compaign was to have begun July 15th spending some $80 million dollars or something like that to kick the Genesis marketing into high gear.

Has anyone seen or heard any new TV commercials yet?

Nope. :(

I've been watching lots of t.v. too! :D

Not a single commercial. Not a single peep. ANYWHERE. Not even a SMALL "Genesis... Coming soon" sign at the local Hyundai dealership..

My guess is that the Hyundai dealers are not allowed by corporate to begin advertising yet. Two dealers in my area each have one Genesis vehicle. Their newspaper ads make no mention of the Genesis, and their webistes have only some old corporate news releases. I wonder if Hyundai corporate will wait until all the dealers have more stock on their lots to begin advertising in earnest.

My dealer here in St. Petersburg got his first 3 cars July 3rd. Advertising started in the Sunday Paper auto section July 6th and 13th. Nothing flashy, but included a picture and was a color ad.

My sales guy just back from training advises the "Official Genesis Launch" is August. That's when they will tap the 87mil.

I was kinda thinking that Hyundai corporate wasn't allowing advertising yet as well - but this kinda kills that idea. Unless this particular dealership is breaking the rules...

From Today's Paper...7/19/08

The 0% financing does NOT apply to the Genesis [tricky, need to read small print]

I've read on this site that the dealerships will receive an upgraded "genesis area." that is not the case here in St Louis. The Genesis was on the sales floor like everything else. There was some $ added to the sticker for dealer prep and all that, but when it came to the lease on V6 Pack 3, it was by the book.

If they are doing a sales blitz in August (or whenever), i suppose it would make sense for them to have a reasonable number of cars on hand. I've heard from my STL area dealer that the V8 is not expected here until the Fall - October or November. That could be a lie.

I am most pleased with my V6 pack 3 sapphire blue and beige interior color combo. i am used to having black interior cars, but the brown leather dash strip + black wasnt my fancy. the pieces of "wood" in the car on the dash and shift knob are grey; i would like them to have more red, and be a little darker. pics coming when sprint decides to replace my insured blackberry.

happy saturday!

One of my local Hyundai Dealer also put a little pic on their color ad on the paper today. Hyundai of Paramus. Nothing fancy either, just a little pic with the sentence: 'All New 2009 Hyundai Genesis, in stock & availiable for immediate delivery' below their huge lettering of Dollar$ & Sense 0% APR Finacing thing. I called them after work today trying to get some infos whether they have any tech pkgs, or white ones, but they were already closed. I guess it's because today is Saturday. Oh well.... I checked on their website, and it doesn't list Genesis yet however.

Some dealerships are probably selling the Genesis right next to an Accent. I don't expect anything fancy at most dealerships. The one near me is too small to set aside anything indoors...

They had a silver one parked out front on Friday when I drove past there. Didn't see any others unless they were in the back. What paper did you see the ad in?

Paramus does not have any tech packages yet and does not know when they are coming in.
