  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

the Tau V8 can be enlarged to 5.4 liters

with a turbo or supercharger setup - this car would be an absolute animal

mated to the upcoming 10 speed auto transmission - with paddle shifters

we might just get an AMG and ///M5 competitor yet

My guess is 3-4 years ( maybe 5 )

BMW and Mercedes had better take notice

A freight train is headed their way

and your source for this information is what?

Souping-up an engine is always possible but would the transmission and rear end be able to handle the extra power? There is already a thread questioning if the computer is limiting the torque in the first two gears to protect the drivetrain. It would be fun to see a TopGear (British please) episode where they take the engine to the max and then flog it until something breaks.

Adding a flux capacitor to a car may make the car faster to 88 mph, but you're gonna need more plutonium to run the car, unless your car is outfitted with a Mr. Fusion.

Hyundai already has a 5.5L Tau for the armored-version of the LWB Equus and they worked on a supercharged 4.6 Tau engine (460HP) back in '09, but the word is that they have moved on to turbo-charging the Tau.

We might see a real performance variant of the Genesis sedan towards the middle/end of the run of the next gen Genesis, but may have to wait until the 3rd gen (Infiniti resorts to the IPL line and not a real performance line b/c sales would not warrant the investment).

And no, this is not "insider" info. - it's all out there on the www.

They should bring the 5.5 ltr engine used in the Equus to the U.S. :D
And I agree with you that turbocharging is the way to go.

I don't think they will strap a supercharger to the car - that was just a hypothetical " what if " on my part

I am confident that Hyundai will have an M5 fighter with the next generation
R Spec.

After all.......where do Hyundai go from here ?

Seems like a natural progression to me ;)

MotorTrend - at least for the engine bore

Hyundai apparently already have a 5.5 ltr engine used in the Equus overseas.
