  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Ours was “Lady Blue” from day one lol

Pet peeve of mine is people that name their cars. I have always liked the cars I have owned, but never thought of them in any way other than "a car".

Also not a fan of referring to Genesis as "Genny". Had I heard that term before buying my car it would have been in the "reasons not to buy column" lol

Damn, I am really starting to feel like the grumpy old guys that argue all the time on this site. :p

You must not like my name then LOL I don't use the term when I talk with people so I don't mind having the username as that. I name all my cars as I see them as females. It would be a bit off-putting if I named my car Bob and told someone "I need to go fill up Bob". No thank you.

Btw, her name is Pearl

I don't name my cars, but my kid has over the years, just something kids do.

she's a teen now so no name on this one. I'm lucky if I can get her to do more than grunt much less name a car.

I'm in the "don't name" camp. I never really understood the desire to name inanimate objects.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Does "the car" count? Hah
Never named them myself, but probably due to a lack of creativity vs caring one way or the other. ;)

If mine had a name, it would be more tied to "Whos car are we driving, mom or dads?"

Wow what a bunch a crotchety old farts! Lol.
Wife and I have always given our favorite rides a name, goes back to the 50s - 60s when us teens painted a name on the front fenders.
Admit to preferring Genesis to Genny when discussing our car, just more classy in my opinion.

Funny you should say that. ,ya l,m 73 now but the reason behind this post was on reading a thread on the Kia Stinger owners site there’s a post where everybody was getting in on the naming of their Stingers. Seemed to be enjoying it.
Guess everyone here is Just too sophisticated........lol

My sons call it ‘ the Genesis’, my wife calls it ‘your car’, I mostly call it ‘my car’ or ‘ the Genny’ - hence the plates, ‘BLKGENY’

Didn't name the Genesis but I did name my MR2T "Sarah". The colour is Steel Mist Gray from the factory, abbreviated SMG. The initials for Sarah Michelle Gellar... Guess I could've called it "Buffy" as well

GENNY IS HER NAME .

I named my black on black Genesis "Black Beauty," with apologies to the Green Hornet.
