  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just curious to see how many miles people have driven in their Genesis, especially the old timers who have had their car for over a year. I want to know what i can expect in the near future. I just passed 10,000 miles and i've had the car for a little over 6 months. I'm interested in knowing the following:

1. How many miles have you driven?
2. How long you've had your car?
3. What changes have you noticed in your car from inception to now (reduction in HP/MPG decrease etc)?

I think this will help others know what they may expect when they reach their mileage plateaus. Please feel free to share.

1. 27,500 miles
2. 13 months (in the shop for the last month after being T-boned or I'd probably be close to 30K)
3. Nothing really, maybe a small decrease in HP, feels like it might hesitate slightly more than when I first purchased, but maybe that's just me getting used to it.

I have had my Genesis for a little over 12 months now, I currently have 19K miles on it. The cars has had no issues, it has been to the dealer for oil changes and visual inspections. I have noticed a slight hesitation in the transmission, but dealer says it is normal.
Very impressed with the quality and dependability of this brand. I have previously driven a BMW 2003 745 and nothing but issues.

Keep up the great work Hyundai!

3 months, 4500 miles, no issues. Mileage has improved with each trip of any length.

Have had my Gen for 12 months, 8,000 miles, no issues!:)

Eleven months and 12000 miles, including round trips from ct to atlanta and miami. No issues, just a great, great car.

4500 miles 6 months, sound as a pound.
Drove 2010 Volkswagon CC last night. 37k sticker. During the test drive all I though was...this car is a turd compared to the Genesis.

7400 mi., 6 months. Only change is I don't "see what she can do" as often, as I already know. But it's still fun.

6700 mi, 10 months. Mileage is good at highway speeds and just average with mixed use.

14,500 miles in 13 months -

I wonder how many miles jwaters has. His is older than mine.

20,600 in 14 months. Notice on hway trips getting better gas mileage, upper 20s (27/28 mpg). City/Hwy usually 23/24 mpg. Love the car

12.5 months
19,920 miles
Mileage slightly improved; no major changes noted.

I have had mine a few days less than fifteen months. I have about 4,265 miles on it. I have always gotten about 14 to 15 miles per gallon. I am stopped at traffic lights more than I am moving. I have a few very long traffic lights and a railroad crossing that I can't avoid. If I get caught at the railroad crossing and then someone falls asleep before the light changes immediately after the crossing I can be there for more than ten minutes.

Previous cars always got 12 mile per gallon.

I have had no major problems with the car. A couple of TSBs and an occasional computer problem that is usually fixed when the car is turned of and back on again.

It's the best car I have ever had.

25,000 miles after 15 months of ownership. Haven't measured it specifically, but mileage seems about 10% better since the 5K mark. Perhaps I'm just not gunning it as often. Then again, I've gotten two speeding tickets in the past few months, so I'm certainly not cruising any slower...doing 70 MPH on an interstate freeway in this car feels like I'm in a funeral procession! As James Taylor once said, "hurts my motor to go so slow...".
