Hi I just noticed there are actually 2 tow hooks in the trunk where the spare tire and tools are ? The one with the longer thread is in the form fitted foam so its secure. The second one (the one I put on the top of the tire to take a picture) is shorter thread (total length and size identical to the other one) but it just rest on top of the jack and not secure down ? Also it has a sticker that says "disposal" ??
The only reason I noticed is I heard some noise when going over bumps etc and started investigating if its suspension noise etc and found that.
I dont even know where the tow hook supposed to screw in to, and does it need 2 so one has to front, the other goes to back. If it does, only 1 of them is secured down in the trunk space ??

. Maybe it was used to secure the vehicle during transport on the ship... but they could have used the supplied tow hook. It doesn't look used at all on my car. Or maybe they used BOTH tow hook locations? Interesting saga. Ha ha. Anyway, my car only has the styrofoam tray identical to yours (sans the 2nd tow hook). And just checked, and it has tow hooks front and back, which is required in Europe, I believe (but not in the US).
