  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

How do I create / edit a signature for this forum? By "signature" I mean the text that is automatically included at the bottom of my post. On most forums this typically contains basic information such as cars owned or something pithy, and is automatically formatted in less obtrusive text. I see other users have it, but I've gone through all the different profile setting pages multiple times and can't find it. I'm even a sustaining member, which says that I can put a "Link in Signature", which implies that signature is definitely a thing :) Where's the UI for it?

Also, FYI, this "Website Issues" section of the forum seems to be hidden. I can only find it from my post history. If I navigate from top to "The Genesis General Discussion Area", it's not listed as one of the sub-forums there.

For the record and future reference, I didn't hear back so I messaged admin Sal, and he said:

1. Sometimes he needs to go in and refresh an account for an automatic user group upgrade to take place. In this case, apparently my new-ish account wasn't in the group of users allow to have signatures. He did that, and then the "signature" user interface showed up on my side. So if this happens to you, just message Sal.

2. Hiding this section is actually intentional for some reason. He said that most people ask website questions in the Lounge area, and he then moves them here later.

Of course, I think #2 means nobody will ever find this thread if they search for the signature problem I was having, so maybe there's no point in me diligently following up :)
