  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I admit I'm spoiled. I've had BMWs for years, and my local dealer treats my family great.

But I've been looking at the Genesis, and my 3 local dealers leave something to be desired. One mandates door guards ($300) on each new car (any model) they sell. One just seems shady, and the last is new, bright, and clean, but has no inventory.

There have got to be some good Hyundai dealers out there! Any advice (I'm in the western 'burbs of Philly)?

First, I would say "I don't want $300 door guards" or pin stripes or rust proofing or value added package! I also tell prospective car sellers do NOT put your name on the vehicle unless you are paying me to advertise.

I bought mine at Freysinger Hyundai in Mechanicsburg, PA. Do you want a contact name?

Thanks - according to their website, they don't sell the Genesis - it's not even a choice on their "check new inventory" page.

I've found this with several other PA dealers. Websites that don't even acknowledge the Genesis exists. And a bad website hints to me that it could be a bad dealer.

Perhaps, but I think your conclusion is a stretch. Many good companies are technologically-challenged. To be honest though, I doubt the dealer experience at most Hyundai dealerships is going to be as good as the BMW dealerships in the same city. With that said, you're ultimately there for the car, not the experience (at least most buyers) - so focus on negotiating a deal you're happy with.

My experience with the Hyundai dealer was not a pleasant one either. I bought it from them anyways. I 've been with BMWs for the last 8 yrs.

I dealt directly with the Inventory Manager who knows every vehicle they have and will be getting. If interested, send me a PM and I will give you his name and number. He was very professional and followed up every time.

"Big" auto manufacturers invest heavily on website development, including virtual inventories you can search on the dealer level. Hyundai is a bit behind the times with this, and their dealers sometimes don't have the savvy to do it on their own very well...

I did a quick search on www.autotrader.com for Genesis within 100 miles of zip 17055 and came up with 115 vehicles. At least this gives you an idea of who has what.
