  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

This is driving me crazy. I can find no way to manually enter a limited number of contacts in my new 2015 Genesis. I DO NOT want to download contacts from the phone. My 2011 had no problem with this but now I can no combination of screens or menus that allow manual entry of a name and number.

I can't find a way to delete individual numbers like I could with the 2012.

Unfortunately you are both correct. To add a contact you need to download all of your contacts to the car again. Same with deleting a contact. The '15G is superior to the first generation G by far imho but there are a few things like adding/deleting contacts that aren't as good.

Your info was confirmed today by a Hyundai response to my case number. This brain-dead. Makes you wonder what else they screwed-up. Even if I allow the full contact list to download, they come in alphabetically by FIRST name. There is no identified way to load them by LAST name. I travel a lot and rely heavily on the phone interface with the car. This is a major disappointment

- Change your smartphone/cell phone settings to show last names first. Download that to your car.

- If the above does not work, then enter your few critical names in reverse order. Put your contacts last names in the first name field and vice versa.

What I found as a useful tool is to set-up favorites. Refer to the "DIS Navigation System/Owners Manual" pages 103-104. It allows you to select the numbers you use the most and place them into a Favorites folder. Then you simply press the Star to access your Favorites.

Have you tried entering in the information via the Address Book? It allows you to enter in a phone number on that screen. I have never used this function so I don't know if it will work but I can't imagine why it would allow you to enter in a phone number if you could not access it via the cars Bluetooth function. If you try this, let me know if it works.

Edit - See DIS Navigation System/Owner's Manual pages 73-81. On page 75 it describes how to make a call via the address book using Bluetooth. You also can download call history for up to 20 calls. See page 101. This might be a function that will allow you to do what you want.

This may be part of the problem. What is the source of the DIS navigation book you describe? This is a 2015 3.8 Ultimate. I received the 2015 Owners Manual that glosses over the subject and the Quick Reference Guide. Nothing with the page numbers you describe.

Hyundai is rapidly using up the good will built on my 2011 4.6 which I raved about. Blue Link is still not working and the latest phone issue is even if I allow contacts to be fully imported they come in sorted by FIRST name. The Android contacts list clearly identifies the name fields but I can't find anything in the Genesis Blue Tooth menu to correctly the sort the list on LAST name.

I got the book with my 2015 5.0 Ultimate. It is about 1 1/2" thick. It is not the owners manual. It is as I described "DIS Navigation System/Owner's Manual". It is about the same size as the owners manual that also comes with the car. If you did not get one, I recommend you go back to your dealer and ask for one. My salesman handed me mine along with the Owners manual when I picked up the vehicle. It was in his office. If you would like, I can snap a picture of it so you can show your dealer. Just let me know.

My 13 Genesis w/ Tech doesn't like my phone, so I can't download my address book into the car. The way I get around this, is to use the speed dial of the phone. For example, if I want to call home, I bring up the manual dial screen on the car, enter "1", and hold the DIS knob down, until the car starts dialing. Only problem is that I have to remember what all my speed dial numbers are for.

Or verbally recalling a saved route by name!
