  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

How to prevent Genesis Customer Care (and other entities) from tracking my vehicle?

He's worried about his car giving away his location, but I bet he has a smart phone with him all the time (just like all the rest of us).

You can log onto the My Genesis page Genesis Owners Homepage | MyGenesis and select "Connected Services" from the pull down menu (upper right of page) and then scroll to "Manage Subscription" and then to "Cancel".

Who knows if this this actually prevents the tracking and sale of data.

I just saw a crime show where the police got a warrant for the computer from a car. They tracked the location and movement from crime site to where a body was recovered. Don't recall the make of car.

I've always worn a tin foil hat, but based on that show, I've since covered my dashboard with tin foil too. Not taking chances.

You can log in to MyGenesis and click on Personal Information Request at the bottom of the page to request that Hyundai/Genesis delete your personal information. I do not know how much they delete or how much information can be recovered from other sources like the car's onboard computers, cell towers, etc.

If you want to disable the ability to track your car, you could disconnect the satellite navigation, SiriusXM, and Bluelink antennas. Pulling the fuses for the navigation/radio might also work.

Or you could just not kill anyone and dump the body.
