If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. I need to replace the center console armrest lid in my 14 sedan. Is it possible without removing the entire console? Any help would be great.

According to the service manual it doesn't seem possible. It also looks like a genuine PITA, I checked mine and I see no access to the hinge mechanism for removal of the top lid.
If you would like a copy of the service manual send me an email or PM and I will get you one. Doug.

I thought that it would be a "pita" also looking at it. I was surprised when I called my dealer service and they quoted me 1 hour labor to replace it...$110. If you can send me a copy from the service manual, would be much appreciated. Thanks you!!

I just replaced the armrest on my 2011 4.6 model.

Let me know if you need instructions.

Pls do post instructions. Thanks

The dealer wanted $675.00 just for the arm rest. I looked on the web for other dealers and the cheapest I could find was $345.00. I looked on Ebay, but since I have the saddle interior which was limited production, there were no sellers. I Googled "Hyundai Genesis Auto Recyclers" and found multiple vendors selling them. I purchased the arm rest at chuckandeddies.com for $75.00. The arm rest was sold as part of the center console, so I received the entire console by UPS.

To remove the complete arm rest (top and the black fuzzy part with interior compartment), requires you to remove the center console. I chose the second option, which was to replace just to top leather part of the arm rest.

Picture #1 - Original arm rest

Picture #2 - Inside of the top part of the arm rest. Where the 2 arms go into the arm rest, there is a plastic cover that gets removed to expose 3 screws. Take a small flat head screwdriver or trim tool and pop the plastic cover out.

Picture #3 - Plastic cover off. Remove the 3 screws.

Picture #4 - Replace the new arm rest and the 3 screws. Pop the plastic piece back into place.

Picture #5 - Close the arm rest and realize it only took about 5 minutes to replace.

Wow. My 2013 sedans armrest was not this easy. The whole underside is covered to get to those three screws shown in image three of the last post. To get better leverage the whole top part had to come off which meant I had to take the felt part in the storage up a bit to get to the four bolts underneath holding the armrest in place.
PITA! But got it done. Thanks in part to these two youtube videos below (thank goodness I didnt break the felt storage like in the first video):
