  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I never had anyone wash my car for me; I always did it myself at home. But as most of you might've seen my accident thread, body shop 'washed and cleaned' my car and scratched my WOODEN dash board. I am very upset...

How can I restore or hide the scratch? Please advise. I am not so sure if household spray PLEDGE would work on this since it's coated wood? Auto Interior detailer spray?

I usually like the Meguire products, but wanna see what worked for you guys.

Thank you all in advance, you guys are the best!

BTW, what would you use to clean the leather seats with? Auto leather care spray? wipe?

I may be wrong, but I believe the dash is plastic.......

Yes the dash is plastic and the wood is fake, but it's done very tastefully. Pledge isn't gonna do jack, so put that away. You have to get some Meguiars PlastX. Try it by hand first, which probably isn't going to do much, but you never know. You're best bet is to use an DA polisher if you have one or get the kit which works with a drill which most people have. Here's the link for the kit. The website will have tutorials. It should work. Good luck....

Deep scratches won't be repairable. It's plastic as everyone says. They can either do body work, repair, and paint it a color you want it to be. Or have them replace it.

Light scratches might be buffable with a buffer. Applying the product with your hand won't provide the speed necessary to get most scratches out.

Either way, I'd make sure they're careful and remove the part to do so, or you're going to get chemicals everywhere on your interior. It's REAL hard to remove once it gets everywhere.

i meant, "PLOOD" haha, i remember reading that. LOL.
