  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Since we have entered the hot summer mode now (90+) the AC in my car is set to Auto and about 70 degrees) and I and now getting a constant condensation/foggy strip forming at bottom center of the windshield. It's about a foot long and 4" wide and on the outside of the windshield as I can wipe it away with the wipers.

I've checked the settings and all seems normal. Are coming from main vents according to the display.

How in the world can I stop this airflow from hitting the windshield and stop having this big foggy patch show up? It's annoying.

Noticed that too in my Genny during hot and humid summer days. I only use AUTO which during a hot day blows air only through the dash vents (when you click the CLIMATE button its shows you which vents the air is coming out). However, when I first noticed that, I thought it was due to the AUTO setting trying to distribute the air through all the vents for better cooling. I played around with manually setting it to blow air through the dash vents only and same thing happened. I can also feel slight amount of air being pushed through the windshield vents and the foot vents even though they should be completely closed. I think it is either the design flaw or some of the vent distribution mechanism has failed prematurely.
I also hate that there is only one vent for the legs (under dash) on the right side which makes my right foot warm during the winter and the left one stays cold... Anyways, it would be nice to hear more opinions.

Or. . . .One man's design flaw is another mans feature.
Designing climate control in a building the goal is comfort and even temperature and not feel air blowing directly on you. Cars should be the same. It may be the idea here, but with a side effect under certain conditions.

That said, it could still be passing too much air to the windshield. You'd have to check the engineering criteria to see what it is supposed to do. Evidently it has enough cooling for the glass to reach dew point. I've only seen it happen on a very damp day but with much lower temperature, probably in the 70s. Never reached it in the 90s and it has been very humid here. Climate control set at 72.

As for your floor vent, check to see if there is a deflector that can be moved to even out the heat for you. Could even be missing a diffuser. If not, a piece of plastic and duct tape may fix you up.

I noticed that as well.... I finally put mine in "AUTO" ~75 & it hasn't done it in a while. Seemed to do it the most when the set temp is very close to actual outside temp. Like earlier this spring...

This is my second summer with my '15 Genesis. I don't recall having fogging issues last year but lately I have. I realized today when the system is set to feet, it also outputs alot of air to the windshield, not as strong as it would be on just defrost but you can hear the sound of the air at the windshield at the same time and I believe I only feel a little air at my feet.
