  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Question for those with a Genesis HUD:

I understand native Genesis navigation can be included in the display, but can 3rd party app navigation through Apple CarPlay, such as Waze or Google Maps, also be incoporated into the HUD?

TIA

No, and the main reason I am happy to stick with the native navigation.

Kind of what I figured, but was hoping otherwise. The only reason I like the others is because of other data provided, such as posted speed limit, traffic, hazards, red light cameras, police, etc. Oh well, I'll still be happy with the other data displayed...

The native nav provides posted speed limits, accidents and traffic (but not police or redlight cameras).

I hate the native navigation. It can't understand my voice commands, and it can't find places as well as google maps or Apple I play. So I always use google but whats the good of having hud? BMW started out like that but switched so they must have a reason. This colors the whole way I feel about the car in general

Seldom use voice command so not an issue for me. A couple of places I went to the route was the same if I used Android Auto. Nice to have the next turn in the HUD though.

Let me try to change the color of your view. Use (and pay for) the Google search on the mirror. It integrates perfectly with the HUD and voice recognition is also perfect.

When I first started driving a GV80 I could not get it to work reliably with voice commands. After a while a realized that it has a more limited syntax than I was expecting. I adjusted to to it, and now it works for me each time I use it. I was just saying the wrong things or using the wrong word order.

My mirror only has garage door openers

How about having Waze running (no destination just the selected app) while using the car system for nav. That way you get the announcements from Waze but the nav from the car?
