  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What shade of transition lenses work best with a HUD? Or, are tinted lenses better?
I understand polarized sunglasses are not effective

I use the gray Transitions. There are a couple of types, mine are the darker ones and work well with it. With polarized, it disappears.

I use Drivewear transitions and they block the HUD. Not sure on the best color lenses but the HUD is best in Green mode.

I don’t believe Drivewear are polarized. I don’t understand why they would block the HUD.

Drivewear has a polarized option. They’re really nice to drive in, but they block the HUD unless you turn your head sideways.

But Genesis did their instrument cluster screens right, they aren’t blocked by polarized lenses. My RC-F was quite difficult to drive with sunglasses because I could barely see the speedometer and none of the radio.

Thank you....be safe

Do drivewear darken more than regular transitions inside the car?

If so I guess the secret is not to get them polarized. I won’t give up the HUD.

They darken more to a green color when behind glass. When outside they turn brown.

They do darken much more aggressively in a car than normal transitions.

Once you've gone HUD, you'll never want to go back.
