  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I just got an email from Bluelink that at the end of 2021, all Bluelink services is shutting down.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
No message here- can you copy the email?

I found it on other Hyundai forums so they might just be slow rolling it out.

To clarify, it does not say ALL. It says on your 2016. Newer models are not affected.

That doesn’t help me

Whew, I’m glad I never subscribed when I bought my ‘14 Santa Fe, currently owned by my Son. Now he won’t be disappointed. 🥴

The good news for many other owners is that they can now justify buying a brand new car to their wives. Thank you, 5G!

Yeh,none here either....but I’m sure it’s coming.
Frankly while I have it and have used it on occasion never was all that impressed with it, and will not really miss it.
A Aftermarket remote starter probably will be preferable .and cheaper!

$1200 for a cellular enabled version. The module to bypass vehicle security is apparently $600 of that.

I really like the Google search function on the mirror. We use it all the time on vacation for restaurants and sites to see.

Pretty sure 2015 and up uses 3G, the letter references 2G. Might not get that letter for a line while yet.

I thought it used 3G as well... But 3G isn't long for this earth either.

I am also pretty sure my 2015 Genesis Tech Package uses a 3G modem connected to Verizon (at least in the North East region of the US).

This article from 2014 mentions that starting with the 2015 Hyundai Models, including the Genesis, it will be using Verizon's 3G service.

So it’s really no surprise then to see the 2015 Hyundai models—starting with the Genesis sedan—will be equipped with Verizon’s 3G wireless service.

Based another article from The Verge, it looks like Verizon doesn't have any predefined date to shut 3G service down when it originally pushed the date back from 2019, to then the end of 2020. My Bluelink has been working great throughout 2021 so hoping to get a few more years out of it since I gave the car to my father who uses it frequently during the winter and the summer.

Yep, 3G also dying a slow death.. bit of a bummer but I no longer use the bluelink service. It was super convenient with the google voice, but not worth the price of admission compared to how infrequently I used it. Also the frequency of failed remote starts was ridiculously high. I hardly miss it, except now in winter.

Sadly this also means my Ancient Kindle keyboard with 3G modem is also not long for this world.

The 2015 and 2016 Hyundai Genesis are not affected by this.

This is the notification dealers got from Hyundai.

HMA Dealer Portal - HMA Dealer Portal
Affected vehicles include all 2012-2014 Blue Link equipped vehicles, 2015 Blue Link equipped vehicles (except Sonata with Navigation and Hyundai Genesis), and 2016 Blue Link equipped Santa Fe, Equus, Elantra, Elantra GT, Veloster (Non-Navigation), and Sonata Hybrid vehicles.

Sooo,my 2016 Hyundai Genesis Ultimate with navigation is good to go right?
