  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey guys. I have had a ton of issues with Hyundai stealerships damaging my vehicles, not doing the correct work etc.. I have complained to Hyundai Canada and they simply say "the dealerships are independently owned speak to the owner. I do so and they don't help. I go back to Hyundai Canada and they don't do anything and they are rude. Who do I goto above Hyundai Canada that can do something?

You would have to complain to your government or business authorities, just like if you had problems with an independent repair shop. Dealerships are not owned by Hyundai.

In the US, many TV stations and newspapers have consumer affairs reporters that might publish your story if it is clearly the dealer's fault, and that sometimes gets action.

I was hoping their was another means of action like Hyundai World Wide, Hyundai North America etc....if Hyundai Canada is not doing their job and are unprofessional and rude to customers when they complain someone above them should get involved.

There is no Hyundai North America. Hyundai Motor America is really just the USA. Hyundai Korea is likely to just refer you back to Hyundai Canada.

Maybe Hyundai Canada should get involved, but they have little or no control unless the dealer violates the dealership agreement, such as administration of manufacturer warranty repairs, etc. It is hard to say without knowing the details of your situation.

In the USA, car dealers are generally not allowed to be owned by the manufacturers, and I assume same situation in Canada. Tesla is trying to sell direct to customers, and some states are allowing that, but they are having some trouble getting permission for that in some states due to existing laws about car dealerships.

And here I thought everybody in Canada was honest, loyal, etc like the RCMP.

I'm shocked.

Maybe somebody should start a thread with their favorite dealer rip-off stories.

Hahahahahaha...Not the case in Canada lol...I have many stories about dealers

Sure why not tell us all about those bad dealers so we can steer clear of them.
Do you know of a good dealer ?

Let us know more detail so we can keep an eye out to their games

I continue to see your negative reviews of Hyundai Dealers and the Manufacturer itself, however I checked out your youtube channel as you recommended on a prev thread, and watched a review your 2011 Genesis Sedan, and you seemed to be happy with the product and performance of the vehicle. You never stated the problems you were having with the Hyundai Canada in this thread so I cannot fully judge. I also looked at your google reviews and they are all very negative and the locations of the dealerships are spread out by 500km, starting to think you may be the problem not them. If the dealers and Manufacturer cannot satisfy your expectations, perhaps it would be time to trade in for another brand.....Earl E Einstein :welcome:

TripleE613...woah man...are you stalking me lol? yikes..Im going to have to have to get a restraining order lol. You must be the guy that Myers Hyundai told me about that has seen my posts and works for them.

I do love the product but coming from being in the business and to see the behind the scenes of what really goes on changes your perspectives. I have a certain expectation with customer service and service on my vehicle especially when dealing with a large transaction like cars. Sorry..

Do me a favor though...stop trolling my shit.

-Someone says something logical......they must work at a dealership and are out to get you.......
-"follow my YouTube channel".......then say's "stop stalking me".....
-10 dealers visited, none are acceptable in providing "customer service and service on my vehicle".....
-"Love the product"...complains about who makes and repairs them...

Hyundai America must be run by the same people in Canada. I have contacted them several times. They have no technical competence. They don't understand why the manual says one thing and the car does something else. And they usually don't even understand the question. In the end, no answers, just a referral back to the dealership. Best we can hope for is that when Genesis and Equus split from Hyundai and have their own dealership we might get better service. If not, those lines will not compete.

The Genesis and Equus are built in Korea, so I would not expect very many people at Hyundai Motor America to have any deep technical knowledge of the cars.

Just like all companies, the customer service people who answer the phone are low-paid workers, and the best you can hope for is that they refer the problem/question to someone else at Hyundai who knows the answer.

Realistically, it's two parts. Whomever does the work is responsible...so, you have to get them to take responsbility. However, if it's the SAME problem. Hyundai Canada will tell you take a hike, but if its general incompetence. You can report it to Hyundai Canada. Further, if it's not drivable for a certain amount of months in the year, roughly, you talk to a lemon law attorney. Then the stakes get higher and you'll get their attention one way or another.

Thanks for relaying the difficulties you are having. Blame Canada!
