  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hyundai Denies Warranty Claim TWICE!

See my thread on A Big Hole in Hyundai's "Bumper to Bumper Warranty"

A warranty means nothing if the company simply chooses to stonewall its customers. My car (2015 Genesis, no mods whatsoever, perfectly maintained) has been disabled for 75 days. Hyundai has moved at a snail's pace to repair it. No written apology, and no attempt to repair the car at all over the Christmas period. (It is January 4, and nobody has worked on the car since December 10.)

Did they say why? Parts on back-order?

OP: For what it's worth, abuse is certainly a reason manufacturers can use to deny claims. It's not common from my experience, but if they feel that the car was operated outside of normal use they can say no. Why cover a premature clutch failure when your flywheel is a nice shade of blue or your rear end if you have bits of tire (from a burn out) all over the rear bumper. Not saying you did though, just stating why it's a valid reason in some cases to decline coverage. I'm glad it worked out for you!

What did you order at Chick-Fil-A?

I with we had Chick- Fil-A in Oregon. We get all the good stuff last. Sonic,West side,In and Out is Medford,White Castle,no. All we have is overpriced and bad Burgerville and a bunch of hippy ran burger joints.

Update:

I did receive my letter notifying me of the recall for my car. I haven't called to set a date for them to look at it though.

For sh*ts and grins I decided to crawl under the car the other day. That's when I noticed there was a rather large dent in the exhaust pipe from where the cv axle connection struck the exhaust when the initial problem occurred. Needless to say I am not very happy. I mean, how could you not have seen that when taking the other rear diff out! So now when I take it in for the recall, I will have to try and have the new dealer get it replaced under the old warranty claim. If that is even possible..... I don't think the dent is really hurting anything, it's just the principle of the matter.
