  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have been having problems with my Hyundai Equus since I bought it a year ago and they have not been able to repair it. I made this video to prove that the air conditioning system is inferior and has some major engineering flaws for their $60K flag ship vehicle! Buyer beware, Check out the video below. ‪#‎Hyundai ‪#‎HyundaiEquusHyundai

If this is your second Equus, did you not have this same problem with the first Equus? If you did, why did you lease a second Equus?

Also, at 6:30 you note that the Infinity is blowing 29F air. If so, why is there no visible vapor present, given the vent vs. cabin air temperature differences. Frankly, I find it hard to believe that the Infinity can blow sub-freezing A/C air.

I have to ask the same question as the other poster

what was the outdoor temperature when you were conducting this test?

This is my 2nd Equus. When my lease was up the dealer assured me that the AC problem was corrected on the 2014. I test drove it and the AC appeared to be better than my 2011. Since is was easy just to lease another one then I did.
After six months of driving the new one then the AC started to under-perform just like the 2011. So I brought it back three times. First it was low in freon, second they could not find anything wrong and third their regional manager came in to test drive it. Vent temps were around 50 degrees. The outside temp when the test was done was around 98 degrees with 90 percent humidity. My first Equus the dealer changed the compressor and nothing changed. So over four years I've been battling these AC problems

I live in Houston, this would be a terrible problem. Ive been looking at an Equus and this gives me pause.

I live in San Jose CA. Even on days where it gets over 100 degrees my Equus air conditioning performs flawlessly. In fact, the A/C is one of the things that has impressed me the most about the Equus. I'm amazed at how fast it cools the cabin, especially compared to my previous car, a Nissan Maxima.

That video sure seems professionally done and must have taken a long time to produce. Seems a little fishy to me, especially given my experience with the Equus.

I think the OP's video is complete BS. Do Infinity A/C systems blow sub-freezing air? I don't theeeeek so!

as a new owner in Houston im not having issues

My Equus has been a little slow to cool the cabin until two days ago when I discovered that the setting for the rear seat passengers was set for high heat. Now the whole cabin cools much faster.

I should have figured this out long ago. Never checked because I can't remember when some was even in the back of the car.

The poster is apparently in the business of producing professional communications stuff (mainly voice):

I have had 4 Equus vehicles, a 2011, a 2012, a 2014, and a 2015. I live in Austin, TX and all 4 of them have always cooled great.

Even on 108 degree days, after sitting in the sun all day, car cools down good.

If everything has been checked and is good, I would reccomend adding, or removing some refrigerant, it will help or hurt, so you
have to be careful, and go in small steps. I will make some improvements, if done correctly.
